Hens, dogs, little sisters - and adults - all flee his path. But Emil doesn't mean to be bad, it's just that trouble - and fun - follow him wherever he goes. So Realistic ! Seonaid says Emil Svensson of Katthult, Lönneberga, Småland, Sweden is an endearing character, and he certainly appealed to Izzie. This is partly because Emil is Swedish, and Izzie loves all things Swedish, but it is also because he is so often accidentally naughty, through thoughtlessness or misfortune. He is a great animal lover, brave and often noble-minded, but at the same time he spends a lot of time on the Swedish version of the naughty step, contemplating his actions. By the author of Pippi Longstocking, 'Emil' is full of fun and humour, a light and easy read that also addresses the sometimes exasperating relationship between parents and children. Valerie says I picked up this book for the Summer Olympics readathon that I am doing. I needed a book that had a tie to Sweden and was about animals. This one fit the bill. In this book we met Emil who is very adventurous and often getting himself in trouble. When he adopts a pig, things only get more exciting. I laughed out loud at the part about a dancing pig. This book was written by the same author Pippi Longstocking, so if you enjoy those books you will probably enjoy this one as well. Fairynee says Membaca cerita Emmil, saya teringat Shincan. Tentu saja mereka berbeda. Saya sekedar teringat saja tindakan konyol sinchan yang sering menimbulkan amarah mamanya ketika membaca buku ini. Itu saja. (Pembuka yang tidak penting, hahaha). Semua Beres Kalau Ada Emmil ( An Lever Emil I Lonneberga) itu judulnya. Jadi semua kenakalan bukan disengaja apalagi direncanakan. Bukan salah Emmil bila niat baiknya untuk membantu orang dewasa justru menimbulkan kekacauan seperti ketika dia mengurung sang ayah di pondok Tressi sepanjang malam. Dia hanya melakukan tugas orang dewasa, memastikan semua pintu terkunci, pintu kandang babi kecil, kandang ayam, termasuk pintu pondok Trisse. (hal. 119) Cheryl says One thing about the terribly underfunded library here in Rolla: they have not discarded all their old books. And so we find treasures like this. Emil's father comes off as less sympathetic than in the first book, and more of an oaf. On the other hand, Emil's goodness and bravery just shines, and this is the first book that's made me cry laughing while reading out loud to the kids. Buku klasik yang sangat bagus Gretchen says I like that this volume of Emil's adventures emphasized Emil's compassion and determination, rather than his humorous, mischievous naughtiness. His mischief is still present, but it reflects the fact that Emil is growing up a bit. Escapades include accidentally ingesting fermented cherries then joining the Temperance society, making all the best buys at a local auction, and culminating in his rescue of Alfred on Christmas Eve. Sweet, funny. My kids (9, 7, 3) all loved this book, which we read aloud together. (It did so very easily and naturally.) Maudy says Hands down the first story that has gotten into my heart, touched it gently, and shed some tears out of the eyes.. I simply love Emil and I could see Joy in this lil mischief. Emil is the eldest of two with one lil cute sister who have and always been nothing more than an object of his extraordinary (if not overkilling) attitude. And tada.. so is Joy back in his childhood times.. But that's not the sole reason why I love this lil boy. There's this chapter when he got out of his home in the middle of a heavily snowing nite just to take his sick buddy to the doctor. I remember my feeling reading it, it was a sudden warmth, an urge of compassionate, and then a one feels-good watery eyes.. I believe that was the first time for me being shown how something people call as friendship is. It was a life-saver for me, and was literally a life-saver when Emil's daddy gave him an advice that the most important thing to protect from rain if you don't want to caught a cold is your feet : ) Meliana says I love Emil and the joy he brings along the stories. With all the little mischiefs he has done, he is still Emil, with golden heart, smart and lovign personality. Weni says Emil adalah anak laki2 keluarga Svensson. Ia tinggal di Katthult, desa Lonneberga, bersama ayahnya (Anton), ibunya (Alma), adiknya (Ida), pembantu rumah tangga (Lina) dan pengurus ladang bernama Alfred. Nakalnya minta ampun (Emil tentu aja, bukan Alfred :D).

  • Where Fiction Really Exists: the Staging and Experience of Authenticity in the Literary Icon-City
Aktuel forskning Særnummer december 2015 webudgave Institut for Kulturvidenskaber Where fiction really exists: The staging and experience of authenticity in the literary icon-city Anne Klara Bom Abstract Denne artikel fokuserer på, hvordan autenticitet iscenesættes og opleves i litterære ikon-byer. The prime focus of this paper is how authenticity is staged an experienced in literary icon-cities. A literary icon- city is a city that has gained iconic status because a literary icon either lived there, wrote about the city or both. The literary icon-city is conceptualised as a “mediated centre”: as a site that – in its mediated form – presents different kinds of authenticity and possible responses to these authenticity appeals.
