“no doubt in my mind what college I was going to choose” by Samantha Clark Police Foundations Security Guard, Frontier Security Services, Trenton, Ontario

I have lived in the Belleville area since I was young. When it came time for me to choose a college and program of study, I found out there are many to choose from. However, when I decided on the Police Foundations program, there was absolutely no doubt in my mind what college I was going to choose – Loyalist. Loyalist is highly regarded when it comes to the Police Foundations program because of its four communications courses, four fitness courses and two, four-week placements. The professors have real-life police experience. They are honest, tough when they need to be and will push you harder if they know you have the potential. For experience and training as you will need the reasons listed above, I would not have to begin the police officer process, chosen any other college. choose Loyalist College. “Loyalist gave me the foundation I needed” by Cat Nolte Television and New Media Production Executive Assistant/Office Manager Sons and Daughter Production Inc., Toronto, Ontario

Loyalist gave me the foundation I needed to work in this industry. The internship program was what actually gave me my break with an amazing commercial production company. I did my two-month internship at Partners Film Company during my third year and they hired me three weeks into my internship as a staff Production Assistant. I made many contacts at that job and have now moved on to a new production company called Sons and Daughters (www.sonsanddaughters.ca), where I am the Executive Assistant/Office Manager. I’m gaining a great deal of experience here and I truly love my job, which is really important. I feel the greatest strength of Loyalist’s Television and New Media Production program is the hands-on experience and the professors who have all worked in the industry.

Loyalist Professor Named Canadian New Media Educator of the Year Robert Washburn, Journalism Professor at Loyalist College was honoured with the Canadian New Media Educator of the Year award. Professor Washburn was the first Canadian educator to bring students into a social networking simulation classroom in the virtual world of Second Life, using this environment as an education tool.
