2019 Criteria and Nomination Submission

Entry Eligibility: To enter Central Women in Business Awards 2019, you must be a woman who resides or works in and is either an Australian citizen or has Australian residency status.

Central Queensland Awards includes the areas of: , Gladstone, Yeppon, Emerald, Woorabinda, , Emu Park, Cawarral, Great Keppel Island,, Byfield, Mt Morgan, Boyne Island/Tannum Sands, 1770/Agnes Waters Moura, , Capellam, and The Gemfields Including Council Regions: Banana Shire, Central Highlands Regional, Gladstone Regional, Livingstone Shire, Rockhampton Regional and Woorabinda Aboriginal Shire Councils.

 If entering the Empowering Young Women’s Award, the nominee be must be in full time OR part time education in Central Queensland as at February 2019.

 Applications are open to all women in business, not only business owners.

 The Community Dedication Award is open to all women who have made a difference in the community either through their contribution as a volunteer or service.

 Nomination Submission to be received by Awards Secretariat before close of business (5pm) February 15 2019.

 Maximum of three (3) different Award Category entries per person. A separate entry must be submitted for each Category. The Judging Panel reserves the right to redirect applications to another Award Category.

 Entries will only be accepted in the provided format with all questions answered and correct information and administration fee provided.

Categories

Celebrating the achievements of Central Queensland women

1: Central Queensland Woman in Business of the Year Award This category will honor the region’s inspiring innovators and visionaries. This category is open to entrepreneurs who have achieved accomplishments of significance over their career. Nominees will possess qualities of vision, innovation, entrepreneurial drive, leadership, individuality, tenacity and demonstrate their commitment to gender diversity.

2: Community Dedication Award This category will recognise the candidate’s contribution to the community, civic or sporting cause. The entrant will demonstrate dedication to either Central QLD region or global initiatives through her current & past charity and voluntary work and community endeavors.

3: Aspiring Young Business Women's Award (open to 18-28 year olds) Entrants will demonstrate significant achievements to date and be making a distinctive contribution in their field or career or educational pursuit. Open to nominees between the age of 18-28 as at March 31st 2019 who possess significant leadership potential and outstanding qualities or performance. Entrants will demonstrate their capacity to shape the future of the city with their immense energy, dedication and flair.

4: Empowering Young Women’s Award (open to high school students) Open to outstanding young women who demonstrate significant leadership potential and outstanding qualities or performance. To be eligible for this Award the nominee must be in full time OR part time education in Central QLD in 2019. Entrants will demonstrate high potential and a commitment to the community by contributing to charity or voluntary and/or achieving success by overcoming the odds.

5: Regional Industry Award This category is open to candidates who demonstrate a high level of passion and accomplishment in the mining, resources, industrial and associated industry sectors. Candidates will have a solid depth of knowledge of the industry and have a strong desire to be part of its future growth in the region.

6: Agribusiness Award This category is open to candidates who demonstrate a high level of passion and commitment in the agribusiness and associated industry sectors. Candidates will have a solid depth of knowledge of agribusiness and have a strong desire to be part of its future in the region.

7: Rising Star Award As a tribute to commitment small business and growing enterprises across the region, this prestigious Award celebrates a visionary and dedicated woman who is doing extraordinary work and addressing critical issues across the region through her work in a small business or growing enterprise.

Nomination requirements – Must be completed and returned by February 15 2019 If you or somebody you know deserves to be honored by entering these prestigious Awards, forward your Nomination Form and $45 entry fee with the following: (If posting, 3 copies of the entire entry including answers to all below questions must be included for judging purposes)

CV or written document including: (Answers to below questions: a maximum of 200 words per answer 2-11) 1. On Front Cover of Nomination provide a 200 word overview of Candidate, experience and why they have been nominated with colour image. 2. The candidate’s work / career history key achievements and educational history. 3. The candidate’s personal history, highlighting how the nominee has overcome specific obstacles and challenges (if any) to reach the level she is at today. 4. The candidate’s role and contribution to a current project/venture/work or educational venture. 5. The candidate/s contribution to the community, include current & past charity and voluntary work. 6. The candidates vision/plans for the future outlining specific future ambitions and goals (show specific projects successfully undertaken to date if possible). 7. What makes the candidate worthy of winning their selected category? 8. Supporting submission material NB: This can include the following: press cuttings; marketing materials; supporting letters and testimonials. 9. Three Referees complete with name, position, relationship to the Nominee and contact day phone number. 11: Fully completed Nomination Form.

Please note for Category 4: When considering the applicant’s demonstration of future potential, particular attention will be given to third-party endorsement and evidence that the candidate has been fast-tracked/tipped for future success.

Important information All shortlisted candidates will be required to attend Category Judging dates in February/March 2019. The dates will be advised by email correspondence within 10 business days of the Awards Nomination Closing Date.

Nominees accepted to interview level will be required to provide 3 bound Entry Nominations for the judging panel, a USB with a 100 word biography and a 1-3 meg head and shoulder image.

Judging Panel: Made up of well respected and experienced members of Queensland’s business community. Three category (3) judges conduct the interviews with successful candidates who reach this stage.

Category Finalists and Winners will be announced at 2019 Women in Business Awards Gala Reception – To be eligible shortlist candidates must be available to attend the Awards Presentation March 22 2019
