The Newspaper/Yearbook staff is a great opportunity to improve your writing skills, make some friends, and have some fun! In Newspaper/Yearbook, you spend a lot of time writing articles for the newspaper, which amounts to one arti- cle per month. With that many articles, you will be great at writing in no time! Another thing we do is work on the yearbook all year long. You can get a lot of design experience from this. I am sure you have a bunch of questions. Why should I join if it sounds like a lot of work? Because it is fun, and you can make a lot of friends! Do the good parts really outweigh the bad parts? In my opinion, yes, they do. Knowing that there is a problem and spread- ing the news to others will help people be aware of the issue. Next, you can do things every day to help. Instead of riding in a car, walk or ride your bike. But if the destination is too far away, try carpooling to release less emissions into the air. You can also make sure not to waste food, and try cutting back on the meat. There are plenty of plant-based alternatives that are yummy too. Make sure not to idle if you are waiting in line for some- thing. And maybe next time you are at a fast food place, go in instead of waiting in line. Did you know they actually try to help the people in the building faster? So, you will be helping the air and not have to wait as long.
