Neuware - Lagoon is an amusement park in Farmington, Utah, United States located about seventeen miles (27 km) north of Salt Lake City. It is privately owned. It has eight roller coasters, three of which are unique; one of these being Colossus the Fire Dragon, which is the only Schwarzkopf Double Looping coaster still in operation (Laser at Dorney Park closed at the end of the 2008 season), and is the longest existing model. Another is The Bat, a Vekoma junior suspended coaster that opened in 2005. The third is the park's newest, largest and fastest coaster, Wicked (2007). It was designed by Lagoon's engineering department in cooperation with Zierer, a ride manufacturer. Lagoon is divided into five main areas: The Midway, containing the majority of the rides and an assortment of carnival type games and food outlets; Pioneer Village which has several exhibits displaying pioneer buildings and artifacts; Lagoon-A-Beach, a water park which is included in the regular admission price; Kiddie Land with several rides for small children, and the X-Venture Zone featuring more extreme rides that cost extra. 80 pp. Englisch. In addition to getting to visit parks in a different culture than we see here, it is also a great opportunity to spend time with fellow enthusiasts and grow friendships while enjoying our common interests. When Scandinavia Sojourn was announced for the summer of 2011, I knew it was a trip I could not miss. Since the 2009 trip was my first trip to Europe I thought that there was no way the over- all experience could be better in Scandinavia. I was wrong. We landed in Helsinki, Finland around 1300 the day before we were required to be at the hotel to meet with the group. Helsinki is an interesting city and fairly new compared to many cities in Europe. Walking around the city you can see the Russian influence in the city’s architecture. In fact, many movies during the cold war would use Helsinki to shoot scenes that are supposed to be set in the Soviet Union. After making our way to the Crowne Plaza Hotel and getting a quick lunch at the hotel restaurant we decided to spend the remaining time that afternoon checking out some of the sites around our hotel. Some of these sites included the Temppeliaukio Church inside of a rock formation, the train station, Routatientori Square and National Theater, and a couple of the city’s art museums.

The movie crew had been shooting parts of the film nearby in Massachusetts and the script called for a scene featuring two of the principal characters in an amusement park setting, specifically riding “tea-cups.” Academy Award-winning actress Kate Winslet and award-winning actor Josh Brolin were the focus of the scene. “Our team worked with the production coordinator to ensure that their experience filming in our great state of New Hampshire was smooth and seamless,” said Chris Nicoli, Canobie’s Marketing and Entertainment Manager. “Canobie Lake Park has been used as a location in other film and television productions over 1 the years, both as a setting and as a featured subject. In this case, we were able to accommodate a major motion picture company that needed just the right look of a classic family amusement Park for the scene.” Canobie’s staff arrived at the Park at 3AM on an August Friday morning to get ready for the arrival of the tractor-trailers of equipment and a full production crew that arrived shortly thereafter. Lighting, cameras, monitors and other essential equipment were put in place in the center of the Park. Test shots were made and extras were put into costume and make-up. The key actors then arrived, the scene was shot and the crew wrapped up after nearly six hours of work before the Park’s scheduled opening of 11AM.
