Silverman) May 2013 – Aug 2013 Heart Failure Patient Data Analysis, ACASA Laboratory, University of Pennsylvania, PA Performed Exploratory Data Analysis of patient flow in a health care network. Conducted Factorial Analysis of patient social economical and medical record data. Built a specialized Decision Tree (C5.0) system for heart failure patient data to support large scale simulation system. Drafted the “Data Mining Support” part in a NSF proposal. Independent Research Project (Advisor: Prof. Xuanming Su) March 2013 – Present Demand Pooling in the Cross-Docking Systems with Information Updating (Initiated as the course project of OPIM 940), University of Pennsylvania, PA Proved the superiority of the post-distribution cross-docking system over pre-distribution system under homogeneous cost assumption. Characterized the breakeven point of the cost and benefit between pre- and post-distributions when cost was assumed to be increased in post-distribution. Analyzed the impact of post-distribution system on the wholesale price contract. Proposed makeup policies in the implementation of post-distribution system when demand signal was censored. Master Thesis (Research Advisor: Prof. Monique Guignard-Spielberg & Prof. Peter Hahn) Feb 2013 – Nov 2013 Optimization of Operations in the Cross-Docking Facility, University of Pennsylvania, PA Conducted analysis on operational data of a cross-docking facility to predict the unit handling time. Formulated a stochastic integer optimization model to schedule the operations to reduce the labor cost in cross-docking systems. Research Assistant (Advisor: Prof. Monique Guignard-Spielberg & Prof. Peter Hahn) Oct 2012 - Present Convex Hull heuristic (CHH) algorithm, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA Wrote and tested a modified implementation of the Convex Hull heuristic (CHH) algorithm for nonlinear integer programs with linear constraints. Implemented a dynamic CHH algorithm for the time-indexed operations in a cross-docking door assignment problem. 1 22 Research Assistant (Advisor: Prof. Jiantong Cao) Jan 2011 – Nov 2011 Decision Making in Public Transitions Based on Smart Card Data (Sponsored by Beijing Public Transport Holdings, Ltd.), Business Research Center of BUPT, Beijing Universities of Posts and Telecommunications, Beijing, China Performed the prediction of short-term passenger flow with high accuracy by Generalized Regression Neural Network. Developed and solved a fuzzy optimization model for public transit planning to minimize the overall passenger transfer-time. Research Assistant (Advisor: Prof. Jiantong Cao) Aug 2009 – May 2010 Customer Relationship Management of China Mobile (Sponsored by China Mobile Limited.), Business Research Center of BUPT, Beijing Universities of Posts and Telecommunications, Beijing, China Analyzed transaction data, and pin-pointed customer groups with Chameleon Clustering Algorithm and SVM model. Designed the real-time customer grouping and keeping strategy. Graduation Project (Advisor: Prof. Zuguo He) Jan 2009 – Jun 2009 Distribution Network State Estimation and Structure Design, Mathematical Experiment and Modeling Laboratory, Beijing Universities of Posts and Telecommunications, Beijing, China Proposed a methodology under the framework of PSO algorithm sharing the merit of Interior Point Algorithm.
