The information started to come in about a year ago. Whlle some of the responses were quite detalled, there were others that were rather general and indefinite. There were gaps and omissions and in several instances conflicting statements on certain events. In view of the limited time and the apparent cessation of incoming materials from the field, a small committee was named with Doctor Walton J. Brown as chairman. It was this committee's responsibility to execute the project in spite of the lack of substantiation of certain information. We believe that this is the first project of its kind in the denomination's history. It is hoped that when the various educators and administrators re­ view the data about their own organizations, they will notify the Department of Education concerning any corrections and additions. They should please include supporting evidence from as many sources as possible. It is hoped that within the next five to ten years a revised edition may replace this first one. It would contain not only necessary changes, but also would be brought up to date.

I think you will enjoy reading about their experiences. 5 Student Research & Internship Reports We are pleased to welcome a new, full-time faculty member to our department with the arrival of Dr. Backil Sung, Ph.D., M.D. We are confident Department of Biology that Dr. Sung will enhance PUC’s already-strong reputation for preparing Chair students for pre-professional programs and biomedical research. Robin Vance, Ph.D Faculty We also welcome back Dr. Floyd Hayes to campus. Dr. Hayes won a Robin Vance, Ph.D; John Duncan, Ph.D.; Floyd prestigious Fulbright teaching scholarship to Paraguay, in fall 2012. Hayes, Ph.D.; Scott Herbert, Ph.D.; Bryan Ness, Ph.D.; Backil Sung, Ph.D., M.D. , Aimee Wyrick- Recently we put out a fundraising request for a new autoclave. We requested Brownworth, M.Sc. $10,000 and within just a few months you, our loyal alumni, contributed Laboratory Coordinator $20,215 in restricted and unrestricted funds to this project.
