A call to the gospel ministry is a call to be not a sociologist or a public performer, but an ambassador for Christ A call to anything less is not a call to the ministry. This call demands a full-time, life-consuming devotion. Question your call unless you feel that in any other work, no matter how large the salary, the job would seem too small. As Martin Luther counseled: ""Lest thou art called, avoid preaching as thou wouldst hell."" Christ has a work for you, a plan for your life. If you're in the wrong place, not only will you fill it poorly, but the right place is empty. A Personal Relationship With Christ Jesus ""called to Him those He Himself wanted. And they came to Him"" (Mark 3:13). Christ called they came. The early apostles were successful in inviting others to come to Christ, because they themselves had already come. You cannot bring until you have been brought. To give others what you yourself do not have is an impossible and frustrating task. And after the disciples came, they spent the next three years in an intimate, everyday relationship with Christ. Only then were they prepared to minister successfully. Saul saw a vision of Christ on the Damascus road and it caused him to ask, ""Lord, what do You want me to do?"" (Acts 9:6). He was ready for ministry only after catching a vision of Christ. Young ministers sometimes seem to catch a vision of themselves: as sanctified divines, as powerful preachers, as leaders of adoring congregations. Stay away from the ministry unless you catch a vision of Christ. Your power in appealing to human hearts will be in proportion to your fellowship with Him." 3rd Quarter 2021-Rest in Christ. Restlessness and fear often go hand in hand. Living in a world that keeps most people busy 24/7 can result in restlessness and fear in our lives. Who doesn’t, at times, struggle with fear, with worry, with dread of what the future holds? The past is done, the present is now, but the future is full of questions, and in this unstable world the answers might not be what we want to hear. We wonder if we will be able to make a looming deadline, to cover the next rent or school payment, to make our struggling marriages survive another storm.

Brown, Ph.D. Department of Education, General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists ·t. 6840 Eastern Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20012 i/ .I Foreword In anticipation of the education centennial in 1972 and the publication of a Seventh-day Adventist chronology of education, the General Conference Department of Education started to make inquiries of the world field for historical facts and statistics regarding the various facets of the church program in education. The information started to come in about a year ago. Whlle some of the responses were quite detalled, there were others that were rather general and indefinite. There were gaps and omissions and in several instances conflicting statements on certain events. In view of the limited time and the apparent cessation of incoming materials from the field, a small committee was named with Doctor Walton J. Brown as chairman. It was this committee's responsibility to execute the project in spite of the lack of substantiation of certain information. We believe that this is the first project of its kind in the denomination's history. It is hoped that when the various educators and administrators re­ view the data about their own organizations, they will notify the Department of Education concerning any corrections and additions. They should please include supporting evidence from as many sources as possible. It is hoped that within the next five to ten years a revised edition may replace this first one. It would contain not only necessary changes, but also would be brought up to date.

The question has occupied the minds of generations of people the world over. One has only to look at the proliferation of world religions to see that man seeks after something better than is contained in this life. In the Christian realm with a seemingly simple Biblical answer of, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved" (Acts 16:31 ), it would seem that the question is answered beyond any need for discussion, but Christian history would teach us otherwise. What does it mean to believe on the Lord Jesus? What is involved in this belief? And Who is Jesus? In the Seventh-day Adventist Church, the topic of Christ's nature has caused heated debate.

Toward a Biblical Theology of God’s Judgment: A Celebration of the Cross in Seven Phases of Divine Universal Judgment (An Overview of a Theocentric- Christocentric Approach) Jir¥ˆí Moskala Andrews University The Scriptural teaching about judgment lies at the center of GodÕs revela- tion. It is a crux of the biblical message, giving a profound paradigm for our thinking. Next to the fundamental proclamation that God is the Creator (Gen 1Ð2), the Lord is presented as the Judge: In the Garden of Eden there is the first reference to the trial judgment (Gen 3:8Ð24),1 where the grace and justice of God are intermingled.2 The biblical Flood narrative is an account about judg- ment (Gen 6Ð9).3 Abraham called God Òthe Judge of all the earthÓ (Gen 18:25).
