Oluyinka Akinola University of Maryland, College Park | Bioengineering Oluyinka is excited to follow her passion for bioengineering at University of Maryland. Oluyinka’s father, James Akinola, is an employee at Heritage. Noah Alexander Anne Arundel Community College | Exploring Engineering & Math Noah is a Cum Laude graduate of Broadneck High School. He is looking forward to pursuing his interests in engineering as his major. Noah’s father, Edward Alexander, is an employee at Mercedes-Benz of Annapolis. Devin Althoff Salisbury University | Accounting/Info Systems Devin Althoff is currently a sophomore at Salisbury University and is a dual major in Accounting and Information Systems. Further plans include taking the CPA exam. Devon’s father, Tim Althoff, is an employee at Heritage. Lauren Alves Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania | Early Childhood Education Lauren earned the Outstanding Defensive Player of the Year award in lacrosse and looks forward to pursuing her interest in early childhood education and becoming a teacher. Lauren’s father, Michael Alves, is an employee at MotorWorld. Luke Antinone University of Pittsburgh | Political Science Luke played in the FBLA Nationals and earned 2nd place at States and Regionals and was the cross country team captain and track co-captain. He was also an intern at the Towson Court House and for Senator Jim Brochin. Luke’s father, Paul Antinone, is an employee at Heritage. Oluwatobi Aroloye Hood College | Computer Science Oluwatobi is the recipient of the Family and Consumer Sciences Department TAM Program Award. To stay in shape and have fun, Oluwatobi plays tennis. Oluwatobi’s father, Eric Aroloye, is an employee at Herb Gordon. Than Than Aye Community College of Baltimore County, Dundalk | Nursing Than Than Aye is earning her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification and major under the career track. She has already finished all the ESOL classes and some of prerequisites subjects for LPN. Than Than’s spouse, Nayturing Aung, is an employee at Herb Gordon. Tiffany Benincasa-Powell Anne Arundel Community College | Pre-Med Tiffany has held multiple positions in community and school groups: she was the outreach coordinator of the Biology Club and is the Founder and President of the AACC PreMedical Society. Tiffany’s mother, Natalie Benincasa-Powell, is an employee at Mercedes-Benz of Annapolis. Nicole Clarke Regent University | Curriculum & Instruction Nicole was raised in Chesapeake and now teaches in the school district as an 8th grade science teacher. She attends Regent University and will finish in the spring with a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in STEM. Nicole’s spouse, Jacob Clarke, is an employee at Hall. Shannon Czapla Towson University | Vocal Jazz Performance Shannon’s interest in music has led her to becoming a private music teacher. If she’s not taking classes or teaching private lessons, Shannon can be found performing around Baltimore County. Shannon’s father, Don Czapla, is an employee at MileOne Corporate. Jessie Diaz Montgomery College, Takoma Park Campus | Cybersecurity While working full time at Audi Silver Spring, Jesse is taking classes to receive his degree in cybersecurity. Jessie is an employee at Herb Gordon. Katelyn Diss Salisbury University | Education Katelyn is currently a student at Salisbury University, and majoring in Elementary Education. Katelyn’s father, Joseph Diss, is an employee at Herb Gordon. Moor Drammeh Towson University | Psychology Along with a full courseload, Moor will be interning in the fall at Thrive Behavioral Health. He is also a member of the wrestling club at Towson University and is a big believer that faith, family, and friends are the most important things in life. Moor is interested in becoming a counseling psychologist in an effort to help others overcome struggles, help create change, and embrace positivity. Moor is an employee at Herb Gordon. Kyle Elliot University of Maryland University College | Environmental Management Kyle is attending UMUC and pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Management. He is on schedule to graduate in 2020 and has a strong love for family, music, gaming and sports. Kyle’s mother, Tracey Elliott, is an employee at MileOne Corporate. Nicole Garcia Christopher Newport University | Interdisciplinary Studies Nicole boasts many scholastic accomplishments and has held multiple positions in community and school groups, such as: International Student Coordinator; President’s Leadership Program Member; Student Virginia Education Association CNU Chapter President; International Leadership Association Student Case Study Competition Participant and Volunteer ESL Teacher for Refugees in the Hampton Roads Area. She maintained a position on the Dean’s List for three consecutive semesters and was a Emerging Student Leader Award nominee. Nicole is an employee at Hall. Holly Holbrook Old Dominion University | Engineering Holly is attending Old Dominion University in pursuit of earning her degree in engineering. She is from Chesapeake, Virginia, and owns four horses. Holly is a passionate rider who started riding horses when she was young with her mom. Holly competes in the sport of eventing. Holly’s mother, Darla Holbrook, is an employee at Hall. Alexandra Hopson Quinnipiac University | Psychology Alexandra has received many academic honors and has held multiple positions in community and school groups, such as: Honor Roll, Oxford Exchange, Senior Arts Award and has played varsity tennis, squash, crew and golf. Alex enjoys writing, drawing and working with kids as a summer camp golf coach/ counselor. Alex’s mother, Terra Hopson, is an employee at MileOne Corporate. Marie Hurley University of Maryland University College | Biotechnology Management Marie graduated from Bedford High School in Bedford, PA and earned a B.S. in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh, Johnstown. After working at Johns Hopkins University at the Center for Inherited Disease Research as a lab technician she became a manager in the genetics lab. She is currently working on a Master’s Degree in Biotechnology Management — a mix of both science and MBA courses. Marie’s spouse Scott Hurley, is an employee at Heritage. Ryan Johns Shenandoah University | Criminal Justice Ryan is passionate about the law and is looking forward to persuing his degree in Criminal Justice. Ryan’s father, Greg Johns, is an employee at MileOne Corporate. Alyssa Johnson Nova Southeastern University | Clinical Psychology Alyssa is currently a Clinical Psychology PhD student. She has a passion for helping people and is an advocate of building community resources for those in need. She currently works in the non-profit sector helping adolescents, as well as their families, with mental health issues. After earning her PhD, she plans to go into private practice and create an organization to provide at risk youth with the mental, social, educational and monetary support needed to establish and reach their goals. Alyssa’s father, Milton Taylor, is an employee at Heritage. Kayley Jones University of Maryland, Baltimore | Nursing Kayley is entering her second semester as a nursing student at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. She played Division I lacrosse at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) for 3 years and then decided to pursue a career in nursing in order to satisfy her passion for helping others. She intends to continue her nursing education post-graduation to become a nurse practitioner with a focus on working with women. Kayley’s father, Brad Jones, is an employee at Heritage. Abigail Karanja Towson University | History Abigail is a two time History Honors Recipipient and is passionate about her faith, photography, media and history. Abigail is an employee at Heritage. Mia Karimabadi University of California, Berkeley | Undeclared Mia Karimabadi is from Ellicott City, Maryland and currently attends the University of California, Berkeley with the intension of majoring in Business Administration. In her spare time, Mia enjoys reading, singing, playing guitar, baking, and hanging out with friends. Mia’s father, Hoosh Karimbadi, is an employee at MileOne Corporate. Breanna Keene Stevenson University | Masters in Teaching; STEM Breanna is a member of Women of Resilience, Tenacity, and Humility and of the Tri Beta Honor Society. Breanna’s mother, Angela Starke, is an employee at MileOne Corporate. Cassandra Kehr University of Maryland University College | Accounting Cassandra graduated from Frederick Community College Summer 2017 with an A.A. in Business Administration. This semester she is continuing to work toward a B.S. in Accounting with a minor in Business Administration at UMUC. She has been employed with MileOne consecutively for the past two years. Cassandra is an employee at Herb Gordon. Taylor Liddiard Northern Virginia Community College | Political Science Taylor is an Eagle Scout and currently works for an eBay store while volunteering regularly. He enjoys spending time with his family and writing stories. Taylor’s father, David Liddiard, is an employee at Herb Gordon. Jacob Lovern Luzerne Community College | Computer Science Jacob will be following his passion for technology by majoring in Computer Science. Jacob is an employee at MotorWorld.
