Standout Chowan at Bowie State....................................4 p.m. running back Roderick Davenport II is back after earning All-CIAA and All-Region hon- ors as a junior. Davenport, a Preseason All-CIAA back, rushed for 1,133 yards in 2014 which led the conference. His rushing total was the second-highest in a season for a Falcons’ running back in the modern era. Jamal Parker led the Falcons with 41 catches for 419 yards and two touchdowns as a junior. Defensive back Denzel Wat- kins is the top returning tackler (48 tackles). Tim Chavous is the interim head coach. ABOUT THE OPPONENT Virginia State University returns 42 lettermen from last year’s squad which won the CIAA Championship and reached the NCAA Division II playoffs with a 10-3 record including 7-0 in the CIAA. The Trojans are picked to win the CIAA Northern Division and fi nish second in the CIAA in 2015. Byron Thweatt is in his fi rst season as head CIAA STANDINGS coach.
