Background (Last Forum meeting, dates, times and venue, short introduction)

The Community forum will have met on three occasions since the last LAP meeting. The dates were 2"d August, 6 * September and 4 * October. We are please to report the establishment of closer links between the forum and Coatbridge youth forum with representatives now attending both meetings This report aims to give an outline of some of the business discussed at the meeting(s); some of the community issues raised, highlight specific issues for consideration at the Local Area Partnership, and give an update on progress to date..

Community Forum Update (Overview of forum activity and actions from recent meetings, forthcoming events or activities, etc)

The Forum continues to represent the views of local groups with or partners. . Project:- The group are involved in this project, local representatives from and Sikeside are co-operating in the provision of a plan to link by pathways the Calder water to the Canal. They are actively seeking funding to promote better use of this area NHS Community Funding :- We are continuing to work with our partners NHS Lanarkshire to provide funding to voluntary groups for the promotion of specific projects which meet the health agenda. The Forum will be meeting with NLC planning Department to put forward the communities view on the way forward with the CARS bid for the Dunbeth Conservation area and the town plan. We will also be working closely with the Regeneration manager on the local development programme for 201 3/14

All recent issues have been resolved.

Community Forum achievementshew developments (An opportunity for the Forum to highlight their achievements and positive developments.)

The Forum was very active in the Beautiful Scotland campaign, working closely with council representatives. The judging took place on Thursday 9* August, representatives from Drumpellier Neighbourhood Watch, Greenend and Sikeside TenantdResidents, Calder Community Centre, Friends of Dunbeth Park. Cliftonville Community Council made presentations during the tour. The judging took place between 1.30 and 5.30 and included Drumpellier Community Park, the allotments at Blair Road and Townhead, Summerlee Heritage Centre, Calder Glen, Dunbeth Park. and . The Beautiful Scotland awards ceremony was hosted by NLC being held in Civic Centre Motherwell. Coatbridge being awarded a silver medal in the small city category It was extremely disappointing to discover that after the efforts made by the community Council failed to invite any persons from the voluntary sector to represent Coatbridge at the event. The Forum has continued to be represented on the following committees. Forum Network Meeting Monkland Canal Project North Lanarkshire P.P.F The community survey which was undertaken at the Coatbridge Fun Day has been completed and will be available for the LAP meeting . The Forum would like to acknowledge the generous support we have received form Town Centre Activities in compiling the report
