Hertford Parish Meeting MAY 2017 Police Report Hertford Council Meetings Hertford Crime Figures 1st April 2018 to 3rd September 2018 FLIXTON/FOLKTON 04/09/2018 MUSTON REIGHTON/SPEETON 25/09/2018 HUNMANBY 26/09/2018 Reighton and Speeton Crime Breakdown Theft No reports of theft this month. Violence No reports of violence this monthin the area Drugs A female has been issued a cannabis warning at Reighton village Damage No damage reports have been received this month. Traffic Matters A passenger has fallen on a bus as it approached the roundabout at the Dotterel pub. No injuries were reported. A damage only RTC has been reported on the B1229 at Speeton. It is believed wingmirrors were damaged in the collision. ASB A male has been arrested on suspicion of breaching a restraining order. Enquiries are still ongoing into the matter. Folkton and Flixton Crime Breakdown Theft No theft reports in the village this month. Drugs No drug related issues reported this month. Violence No violence reports this month. Traffic Matters Two separate incidents of damage only fail to stop incidents have been reported in the carpark of the Fox and Hounds at Flixton. Both incidents have caused minor damage. A manner of driving complaint has been made on the main street at Flixton. A loose pig has been reported on the main street of Folkton village. A male has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving after testing positive at the roadside for cocaine. ASB No ASB reports recorded this month in the village. Criminal Damage No reports of damage in the village this month. Crime Breakdown – Hunmanby Theft The Autograss Association at Bartindale Road have reported a container broken into on the site on 04/08/2018. Two breathalysers were stolen from within value unknown. A quad bike has been reported stolen from an outbuilding at SOUTHFIELD FARM overnight on the 10/08/2018. The ATV is described as a black and orange KAYO RAGING BULL 125cc. The vehicle was valued at £1249 enquiries are ongoing. Drugs No reports received this month in relation to drugs Damage No criminal damage has been reported in the village this month. Anti-Social Behaviour This month there has been 2 reports relating to ASB personal and 6 reports relating to ASB nuisance Violence A male has received a community resolution disposal for assaulting a female on Hungate Lane . Traffic matters A 2 vehicle RTC has been reported at Sands Lane junction with Sheepdyke Lane. There were no injuries to either party and details were exchanged at the scene. A vehicle has been reported on Bridlington Street as obstructing a driveway. It was moved a short while later. A single vehicle RTC involving a motorcyclist has been reported just off the Dotterel roundabout where the rider has left the road. There were no injuries reported at the scene and an ambulance was in attendance. The rider made their own way from the scene. Hunmanby CCTV Plans are going forward for SBC CCTV in the village. Proposed cameras will be located at Cross Hill and outside the COOP on Bridlington Street. These will provide good coverage of Bridlington Street / Cross Hill / Church / Bailey Gardens / Hungate Lane / towards Castle Hill Muston crime breakdown Theft No thefts have been reported this month Drugs No drug related reports this month. Traffic matters A manner of driving complaint has been made on the A165 at Muston A broken down vehicle has been reported causing tailbacks at Badger Bends Muston. A black cow has been reported as wandering in the road A165 Muston junction. A male has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving on the A165 at Muston Junction. Anti-social behaviour / Suspicious circumstances Suspect males have been reported as selling garden furniture out of a van in the village this month. Violence No reports of violence this month.     w TUESDAY 8TH MARCH 2016 MARKET REPORT As spring begins to get into full swing there were similar numbers of stock across all departments. There was another good entry of heifers with some excellent beasts topping 250ppk. There was a good run of heavier steers and another fine entry of Hoggs as good fit pens remain a good trade. 8 steers averaged 176.31ppk and topped at 199.50ppk (£1464) 2 young bulls averaged 160.41ppk and topped at 180.50ppk (£1074) 28 heifers averaged 205.66ppk and topped at 257.50ppk (£1412) 12 OTM cattle topped at 179.50ppk (£1221) 1554 Hoggs averaged 183.31ppk and topped at £113 (220.00ppk) 108 cull ewes averaged £96.77 and topped at £128.00 2 YOUNG BULLS More bulls needed at Malton. The top price per kilo and per head went to an excellent SM Bull from Ventress & Partners of Littlebeck, weighing 595kg and selling for 180.50ppk (£1074) to Cleveland Meat Co. of Stockton on Tees. A lighter Fr bull from JE Clifford & Son of Slingsby, weighing 480kg reached 135.50ppk. 8 STEERS There was an increase in the number of steers on offer this week with a good run of heavier steers forward. The top price per kilo went to a CHX steer from P Raines & Son of Hovingham, weighing 635kg and selling for 199.50ppk (£1267) to JP Mason & Sons of Langton. The top per head went to a heavier BB steer from the same home, weighing 745kg and selling for £1464 (196.50ppk) to JM Douglas of Marishes.

Institute of Archaeology, UCL, 31-34 Gordon Square, London, WC1H 0PY, U.K. ([email protected]) Abstract Investigating knowledge of mathematics and the use of standard units of measurement in prehistoric societies is a difficult task. For the British Neolithic period (4000-2500 BC) attempts to refine our understanding of mathematical knowledge for this period have been largely unsuccessful until now. Following recent research, we propose that there is a direct link between the design of the monument of Stonehenge and the chalk artefacts known as the Folkton and Lavant Drums, in which the Drums represent measurement standards that were essential for accurate and reproducible monument construction. This has important implications for the future analyses of artefacts and monuments for this period. Introduction Within studies of the British Neolithic, material culture and monument forms are commonly approached in different ways. Material culture is largely examined through the form, function and decoration of artefacts such as stone tools and pottery vessels (Hurcombe 2007, 59), while monuments (i.e. large-scale earthworks and structures built of timber and stone) are studied through elements of their construction, and evidence for their inferred use (Cummings 2008). This conventional approach inadvertently poses an interpretive separation, whereby items of material culture are sometimes conceived as being supplementary to British Neolithic monumental activity, and simply form an incidental part of the archaeological record.

ASB No ASB reports have been received this month. Hunmanby Theft Four alloy wheels have been stolen from a trailer overnight on Priest Close on the 1st of MAY between 2100hrs and 0900hrs. The wheels were valued at £200. Items have been taken from a garden on Outgaits Lane including a sledgehammer and wheelbarrow. A make off without payment has been reported at Primrose Valley Garage on 11/05/2018.
