George Harrison E O Movimento Hare Krishna, 1966-1973

There are now two actions before the court (HQ08X00896 and HQ08X00875). They are claims brought by Mr John Alexis Mardas against, respectively, the New York Times Company and the International Herald Tribune SAS. He alleges that defamatory articles were published within this jurisdiction, both in hard copy and on line. 2. Despite an admission in its defence, International Herald Tribune now denies that any publication took place in this jurisdiction by way of hard copy. It has been explained in evidence that the original admission was made in error. It is admitted that publication occurred on line and, what is more, it continues to this day. 3. The Master struck out both actions on 10 June 2008. Permission to appeal was granted by Sir Charles Gray on 10 August 2008. The Master founded his decision on case management considerations, lack of proportionality and the decision of the Court of Appeal in Jameel (Yousef) v Dow Jones Co Inc [2005] QB 946. -

Beatles Final Paper Zachary Lee Liverpool, Late 1950S: a 16 Year Old
Beatles final paper Zachary Lee Liverpool, late 1950s: A 16 year old schoolboy by the name of John Lennon forms a group of musicians called the Quarrymen (after using the name Blackjacks). After members of the Quarrymen left the band, a friend from John’s school, Stuart Sutcliffe joined the band as its bass player and it was he, in the summer of 1960 that suggested the name “the Beatles” in admiration for Buddy Holly and his band the Crickets. After a successful stint in Hamburg between 1960 and 1962, the Beatles became more and more popular—especially back in Liverpool. From there, the Beatles managed to convince Ed Sullivan to bring them to America where they would go on to becoming arguably the most successful band in the history of music. In terms of their music, the Beatles composed many pieces of music during their time as a band with some being more famous and recognizable (for common music listeners) such as “Hey Jude” and “Yesterday” than others such as “Maxwell’s Silver Hammer” and “The Word”. Their flexibility of song writing and producing is so great that some of their songs stand not just as a carrier of lyrics like most pop songs, but they are also musical compositions able to be played by many different instruments in many different ways. When looking at the Beatles, one could split the Beatles into three “time periods” highlighting the different stages of musical influences and production by the Beatles. The first would be from around 1963 to around 1965 when they released albums such as: Please, Please Me, A Hard Day’s Night and Help!. -

MCW: Thank you very much for coming. May I have your permission that the copyright for this interview lies with the British Library Sound Archive? MR: Yes, certainly. MCW: Sorry I should have mentioned! This is Marie-Claire Wyatt interviewing Maroussia Richardson on the 23rd August, 2007. As we mentioned before, what was your first experience of the theatre and…? MR: My mother had been a dancer, and then became a dramatic critic. So first of all she sent me to dancing school, where I was for ten years without ever getting any good at it at all. And I also went to a lot of theatre, because she got free seats of course. And I don’t know what the first thing I saw was… I know I saw Alice Through the Looking Glass and The Wizard of Oz on stage somewhere, and hid under the seat when the witch came on. Anyway when it transpired that I wasn’t going to be a dancer, my mother said, ‘Oh well, you’d better be an actress then!’, because the whole family were very into theatre. My grandmother had wanted to be an actress and her mother wouldn’t let her.
