NJTPA Transportation Improvement Program Fiscal Years 2012 - 2015 ADA--Platforms/Stations DBNUM: T143 Funding is provided for the design and construction of necessary improvements to make NJ TRANSIT's rail stations, and subway stations compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) including related track and infrastructure work. Funding is requested for upgrades, equipment purchase, and transit enhancements throughout the system including, but not limited to Perth Amboy and Ridgewood stations. This program also provides funding for other accessibility improvements at non-key stations.

The total project cost for ADA Improvements is anticipated to be $41 million and Perth Amboy High Level Platform Construction is anticipated to be $25 million.

NJ Transit Page 13 of 76 NJTPA Transportation Improvement Program Fiscal Years 2012 - 2015 Casino Revenue Fund DBNUM: T515 State law provides 8.5% of the Casino Tax Fund to be appropriated for transportation services for senior and disabled persons. This element also supports capital improvements that benefit the senior and disabled populations. The law provides 85% of these funds to be made available to the counties through NJ TRANSIT for capital, operating, and administrative expenses for the provision of locally coordinated para-transit services. The amount each county receives is determined by utilizing an allocation formula based on the number of residents 60 years of age and over as reflected in the most recent U.S. Census Report.
