These will be answered by responding to the top 10 issues / themes. • If you would like to confirm that your questions were received by the Council there are several staff members present with a list of all questions received prior to this evening. TOWN OF GAWLER Page 13 of 132 COUNCIL MEETING 22 SEPTEMBER 2015 ATTACHMENTS UNDER SEPARATE COVER GAWLER EAST LINK ROAD What is the Link Road? • Approximately 5km long roadway (Balmoral Road to Potts Road). • Single vehicle lane in each direction (Road reserve width 20-25m wide). • Bicycle lanes and footpaths either side. • Landscape treatments and street trees. • Final speed limit on roadway to be determined (ie 50 or 60 km/hr). • Once 4,000 homes constructed, traffic volumes will be similar to Main North Road, Willaston (approximately 12,000 vehicles per day). TOWN OF GAWLER Page 20 of 132 COUNCIL MEETING 22 SEPTEMBER 2015 ATTACHMENTS UNDER SEPARATE COVER GAWLER EAST LINK ROAD Council’s Concept Alignments – Eastern Option TOWN OF GAWLER Page 21 of 132 COUNCIL MEETING 22 SEPTEMBER 2015 ATTACHMENTS UNDER SEPARATE COVER GAWLER EAST LINK ROAD Council’s Concept Alignments – Eastern Option Why Council supports the Eastern Option: • Provide a strategic connection point at Potts Road that could facilitate an extension to Tiver Road, catering for future growth in the region. • This extension in the long term would significantly reduce traffic congestion at the Potts Road/Main North Road intersection and improve safety along Potts Road. • It is considered to have the least amount of impact on the existing community overall. • Council notes that further detailed investigations (ie environmental, risk, service authority and geotechnical), as well as directly affected private property owner engagement, will be required prior to finalising this concept alignment.
