Identity Crisis is also probably up there for me as one of my top ten best Zxs77Xt14 graphic novels of all time as it in essence it Watchmen-ised the SEAJVyTy7 and asked the what would happen if the Justice League dealt with more SBXySKgSh emotional and realistic problems. I am glad to say that Meltzer brings this type 1yVRXFsyK of writing to the Green Arrow book (but this one has action and has one of the best fights that I have seen involving Solomon Grundy) and takes Ollie on an adventure of rediscovery. Ollie does a lot of soul searching here, as he is still dealing with coming back from the dead from Green Arrow #100~101 (1987), where he gives his up his own life saving Metropolis from a bomb; and also tries to reconnect with the people that he loved before he died. If you havent checked out Quiver which was written by , I highly recommend that you read that incredible 9.5/10 graphic novel before reading this one. You get a lot of cameos here including Wally West Flash (Barry Allen was still dead during this time from Crisis on Infinite Earths), ( was also dead during this time as he goes crazy via Parallax and Ollie is forced to shoot Jordan in the chest), Conner Hawke (Ollies illegitimate son), and even Arsenal.Meltzer doesnt just include cameos of characters, but he includes each character for a reason and none of them feel like throwaway characters. Meltzer explores the complexities of Ollies relationship with everyone else in this story and makes each interaction genuinely satisfying. For example, in one scene Kyle Rayner confronts Ollie and asks him how come Ollie always gives him a weird look and demands to know if Ollie has a chip on his shoulder because someone else took his departed friends super hero name. Ollie responds Im just dealing with looking at someone dress up in my best friends costume after he died. Its these kindve interactions that make this book worthwhile and so memorable. He also includes well placed levity in this book that feels natural, but I also adds to the characters of this book I was really impressed at how well the humor was done. The only drawback is the art for this book as sometimes I feel like Hester cannot handle the complexity of emotions on his characters. Hester does action very well, but during the more emotional scenes I wanted someone like a Ivan Reis or Alex Ross to render those scenes, still for the most part I enjoyed the artwork in this book. Archer's QuestBy Kindle CustomerArcher's Quest is one of the finest Green Arrow stories written. It plays on the themes of family, friendship, and love. There is only one "villain" if you will but that's a surprise I'll leave for future readers and fans.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. One of the best Green Arrow storiesBy Albert LeeOne of the best Green Arrow stories. Its about Green Arrow who, shortly after returning from being dead, has to gather back some of his memorabilia that were stolen from his arrow cave. Very good story arc.
