Norske Soppnamn - Ein Studie Av Ein Stor Og Omfangsrik Vokster I Nyare Tid Norske soppnamn - ein studie av ein stor og omfangsrik vokster i nyare tid BENTHE SKRØVJE RETTLEIAR Vidar Haslum Universitetet i Agder, 2019 Fakultet for humaniora og pedagogikk Institutt for nordisk og mediefag Forord Naturfaglege emne er noko eg har interessert meg for i all mi tid, og soppanes verd blei eg kjent med gjennom interessa mi for mat og sanking frå naturen. Etter kvart som eg blei stadig betre kjend med soppane, oppdaga eg namna, det er ei fascinerande samling vakre, poetiske og interessante namn som opnar døra til ei like fascinerande verd. Då eg skulle ta mastergraden i nordisk språk og litteratur, tok eg eit masteremne i namnegransking og eg så moglegheita for å kunne skrive om noko som eg er veldig interessert i, nemleg dei norske soppnamna. Det er sjølvsagt nokre favorittnamn blant soppnamna, namn som er gode og som sit med ein gong, slike som fiolgubbe, blomkålsopp og satansopp. Og det finst nokre finurlege og poetiske namn som òg er interessante, slike som uventa slørsopp, frierslørsopp, vranggrynhatt og slimhorn. Alle namna er laga i ein bestemt tradisjon for korleis me lager artsnamn og dei har ei forklaring. Det er dette eg har undersøkt i oppgåva mi. Eg vil rette ein stor takk til rettleiaren min, Vidar Haslum, for gode innspel og hjelp undervegs. Eg har tatt mange krokvegar, men han har henta meg inn på rett spor meir enn ein gong. I byrjinga trudde eg at dette var eit smalt emne, men etter kvart som eg har jobba med stoffet har det utvida seg og eg har lært mykje om språk, soppar, vitskapshistorie og norsk kultur. I løpet av tida eg har arbeidd med oppgåva har eg tatt innføringskurs i latin, og eg har gått opp til prøva for soppsakkunnige. Det har vore ei spennande reise som har gitt meg mykje kunnskap som eg vil ha glede av resten av livet. Eg håper òg at andre kan få glede av arbeidet mitt både i forhold til sopp og soppnamn, men òg når det gjeld artsnamn på andre artar. I dag er artsmangfaldet i verda trua, mange artar står i fare for å døy ut og det er imperativt å setje fokus på naturvern. Artsnamna er inngangen til kunnskapen om artane, namna gjev artane identitet og ein plass i dei store samanhengane i verda. Soppnamn finn me på tre ulike nivå, folkelege soppnamn, faglege norske soppnamn og vitskaplege soppnamn. Det er dei faglege norske soppnamna som er hovedfokus i oppgåva. Dei faglege norske soppnamna som blir undersøkt er henta frå publikasjonen Norske soppnavn (NSNF, Norges sopp- og nyttevekstforbund, 2011). Det er desse soppnamna som er gjeldande norske artsnamn i Noreg i dag. Oppgåva tar for seg opphav, språkstruktur, innhald og bruk av soppnamna. Norsk kultur har tradisjonelt vore skeptisk til sopp, dei har ikkje vore viktige til verken mat, rituelle stimuli eller anna bruk, det er dermed svært få arveord og folkelege norske soppnamn. Kring 1850 hadde me ikkje meir enn eit tjugetals norske soppnamn. Etter kvart som vitskapen har utvikla seg det blitt stadig fleire norske faglege soppnamn, i 2011 hadde me 2930. Dei aller fleste av desse er boklege konstruksjonar som har kome frå fagmiljøa. Namna er laga i ein språkleg og vitskapleg tradisjon. Voksteren i faglege norske soppnamn har først og fremst gått føre seg frå slutten av 1800-talet og fram til i dag. Enkelte folkelege soppnamn, nokre lån frå ei felles europeisk språkarv og sterk påverknad frå svenske soppnamn er grunnstammen i det soppnamneleksikonet me har i dag. Soppnamna er oftast bygd opp med basis i eit primærnamn, og etter kvart som ein finn nye artar har ein bygd ut, og bygd om soppnamna. Soppnamneleksikonet er i stadig utvikling og fagmiljøa har stor autoritet. Det er fagfolk som står bak endringar og nylagingar. Soppnamn blir brukt til å identifisere soppartar, og det semantiske innhaldet i soppnamna møter oftast dette behovet med å seie noko konkret om korleis soppen ser ut, kvar han veks, korleis han lukter og slik bortetter. I soppnamna finn du mange beskrivande adjektiv og metaforar. Soppnamneleksikonet er livleg og omfattande, og eit resultat av eit bevisst språkleg og fagleg arbeid med soppartar. Kunnskapen om soppartane materialiserer seg i dei faglege norske soppnamna og i ei tid der artsmangfaldet er trua, og miljøsaka er den viktigaste saken, er norske soppnamn høgst aktuelle. 3 Summary This thesis is a study of Norwegian fungi names. We find fungi names on three different levels, common names for fungi, Norwegian professional names for fungi and scientific fungal names. The professional Norwegian mushroom names are the focus in the study. The names investigated are from the publication Norske soppnavn (Norges sopp- og nyttevekstforbund, 2011). The thesis addresses origin, language structure, content and use of fungi names. Norwegian culture has traditionally been skeptical of fungi, and they have not been important as either food, ritual stimuli or other uses, so there are very few inherited words and popular Norwegian mushroom names. As science has evolved, yet more Norwegian professional fungi names have evolved. In the early 1800-hundreds there were less than 30 names, in 2011 the number has grown to about 3000. The vast majority of these are literal constructions that have come from the academic area. The fungi names are created in a linguistic and scientific tradition. The immense growth in professional Norwegian fungi names primarily emerged from the end of the 19th century until today. Some common fungi names, some loans from a common European language heritage, and strong influence by Swedish fungi names are the mainstay of the current fungi lexicon. Fungi names usually consist of a primary name as basis, and as one finds new species, one has developed and rebuilt the fungi names. The fungus lexicon is constantly evolving and the academic community has great authority. We use fungi names to identify species, and the semantic content of fungi names meets this need to say something concrete about how the fungus looks, when it grows, how it smells and so forth. In the fungi names, you will find many descriptive adjectives and metaphors. The fungi lexicon is lively and extensive, and a result of a deliberate linguistic and academic work with fungi. Knowledge about fungi species materializes in the Norwegian fungi names. In this paper, we constructed the Bilinear convolutional neural networks (B-CNN) with attention mechanism model based on transfer learning to realize the classification of Amanita. When the model is trained, the weight on ImageNet is used for pre-training, and the Adam optimizer is used to update network parameters. In the test process, images of Amanita at different growth stages were used to further test the generalization ability of the model. After comparing our model with other models, the results show that our model greatly reduces the number of parameters while achieving high accuracy (95.2%) and has good generalization ability. It is an efficient classification model, which provides a new option for mushroom classification in areas with limited computing resources. Richter, School of Forest Resources and Environmental Science, Michigan Technological University, Houghton, MI for Ottawa National Forest, Ironwood, MI March, 2011 Introduction There are many thousands of fungi in the Ottawa National Forest filling every possible niche imaginable. A remarkable feature of the fungi is that they are ubiquitous! The mushroom is the large spore-producing structure made by certain fungi. Only a relatively small number of all the fungi in the Ottawa forest ecosystem make mushrooms. Some are distinctive and easily identifiable, while others are cryptic and require microscopic and chemical analyses to accurately name. This is a list of some of the most common and obvious mushrooms that can be found in the Ottawa National Forest, including a few that are uncommon or relatively rare. The mushrooms considered here are within the phyla Ascomycetes – the morel and cup fungi, and Basidiomycetes – the toadstool and shelf-like fungi. There are perhaps 2000 to 3000 mushrooms in the Ottawa, and this is simply a guess, since many species have yet to be discovered or named. This number is based on lists of fungi compiled in areas such as the Huron Mountains of northern Michigan (Richter 2008) and in the state of Wisconsin (Parker 2006). The list contains 227 species from several authoritative sources and from the author’s experience teaching, studying and collecting mushrooms in the northern Great Lakes States for the past thirty years. Although comments on edibility of certain species are given, the author neither endorses nor encourages the eating of wild mushrooms except with extreme caution and with the awareness that some mushrooms may cause life-threatening illness or even death.

Cripps1 Abstract—Native mycorrhizal fungi associated with aspen were surveyed on three soil types in the north-central Rocky Mountains. Selected isolates were tested for the ability to enhance aspen seedling growth in vitro. Over 50 species of ectomycorrhizal fungi occur with Populus tremuloides in this region, primarily basidiomycete fungi in the Agaricales. Almost one-third (30%) were ubiquitous with aspen and were found on all three soil types. Over one-third (37%) were restricted to the acidic, sandy soil of the smelter-impacted Butte-Anaconda area, revealing a subset of fungi that tolerate these conditions. Mycorrhizal fungi were screened for their ability to enhance aspen growth and establishment. Of nine selected isolates, all but one increased the biomass of aspen seedlings 2–4 times.

OVIGERAE (Basidiomycota Amanitaceae ) FROM SICILY SUMMARY Four species of the genus Amanita Pers. ( A. dryophila , A. mairei , A. pseudolactea and A. sepa - rata ) belonging to section Vaginatae , subsection Ovigerae and bearing ellipsoidal basidiospores are reported from Sicily. Ecological, taxonomical and distributional features of each species and a key for their identification are also included. RIASSUNTO Chiave d’identificazione delle specie del gen. Amanita , sect. Vaginatae , subsect. Ovigerae (Basi - diomycota Amanitaceae) della Sicilia . In questo lavoro è segnalata la presenza in Sicilia di quattro spe - cie del genere Amanita Pers. ( A. dryophila , A. mairei , A. pseudolactea e A. separata ) afferenti alla sezione Vaginatae , sottosezione Ovigerae e caratterizzate da basidiospore di forma ellissoidale. Gli autori riportano i caratteri macroscopici, microscopici, ecologici, tassonomici e distributivi di cia - scuna specie e propongono una chiave di identificazione . INTRODUCTION The increase of mycological investigations in Sicily during the last fifteen years permitted to widen the knowledge on ecology and distribution of a huge number of macromycetes and to clarify the perplexed taxonomy of some interesting taxonomic groups. The genus Amanita Pers. is one of the most investigated in mycology and the sense of curiosity on such macromycetes is not only based on their fundamental role in forest ecosystems , but also on the 420 G.
