Dužijanca Dužijanca is a celebration ending the harvest; it was perme- ated with a spiritual – religious dimension, given that it originated from the Bunjevac Croat farming families, expressing a feeling of gratitude towards God for the picked crops. Nowadays, Dužijanca is a city event that starts in April with the act of blessing the har- vest, and it ends by the end of August with a parish festival in Bu- 06 naric and which comprises about twenty events in Subotica and the neighbouring villages, having their own Dizijanca celebrations and are guided by Bandaš and Bandašica (the Queen and King of Duzijanca) who have been chosen prior to the event. The event hosts excellent dancers and musicians from ten countries. Each night they perform their pro- ductions within the Dance Panorama programme and show their colourful and gorgeous culture to local citizens. Traditionally, for- eign companies visit other settlements and locations in Vojvodina 07 thus creating a life-long experience for the citizens in Backa Topola, Senta, Kanjiza and Horgos. It will be the fourth time for organis- ing the “Plesati zajedno – Együtt táncolni” /Let’s dance together/ event during which the three Subotica-based cultural associations, the Bunjevacko kolo, the Mladost and the Népkör perform their joint production. Programme: Performances Crafts fair Craft workshops Fairy tale telling Skills and crafts The venue of the Festival is the square in front of the City Hall, which is called “Etnopolis” during the five festival days. Traditional tents and stands lend the square a medieval atmosphere attracting the citizens of Subotica and its neighbourhood. There are some estimations that more than 20.000 visitors became “citizens of the world” during the festival. Etnopolis is a venue for concerts in the evenings. The festival club in the Népkör has become a traditional place for dances and world music parties. STEFANOVCIC and M. MANOJLOVIC, 2014. Effect of organic production on soil structure. Bulg. J. Agric. Sci., 20: 1168-1174 Organic agriculture is a production system, which avoids the use of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, growth regulators, and additives and relies on natural principles that contribute to the growth, development, and health of plants. Its aim is safe production of quality produce and maintenance and improvement of the sanitary condition and quality of soil and the environ- ment. Soil structure is most important among the physical soil properties due to its large impact on the water, air and thermal status, chemical and biological properties of the soil, soil tilth and the growth of plant roots. It is an indicator of soil fertility and productivity. The objective of this study was to determine the contribution of organic agriculture to soil structure improvement by comparing soil structure indicators from organic farms and conventionally tilled production plots. The study was conduct- ed in Vojvodina Province, Serbia. Organic farms in 8 locations (Kelebija, Orom, Pančevo, Crepaja, Bajmok, Ljutovo, Totovo Selo, and Kisač) were compared against Rimski Šančevi experiment station in which the conventional soil tillage system has been employed for several decades. Soil samples were collected from soil depth of 0-30 cm.
