The theme harks back to the origins of the Associated Colleges of the Midwest (ACM) in a group of residential liberal arts colleges that were joined in an athletic conference. It marks the central premise of the ACM consortium – that colleges that are good enough to compete with each other can enhance achievement of academic goals on each campus by also collaborating with each other. Seven of the 13 ACM member colleges will field teams. Six women’s and seven men’s teams, from Carleton College, Colorado College, Grinnell College, Lake Forest College, Lawrence University, Macalester College and St.Olaf College will compete.
