Verses of Comfort and Faith

Isaiah 12:2-4 Behold, God is my salvation; will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. -Therefore with joy shall draw water out of the wells of salvation. -And in that day shall ye say, Praise the LORD, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted.

25:1 O LORD, art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

25:4 For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.

26:3-4 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. -Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:

40:28-31 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. - He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. - Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: - But that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with w i n g s as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

41:17 When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.

42:8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

43:1b-4 Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. -When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. -For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee. -Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.

43:7 Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.

44:3 For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:

Isaiah 45:2 a I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight:

45:9,12 Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth , What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands? I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded.

46:4 And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry : I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.

46:9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,

48:10 Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.

49:1b The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name.

50:7 For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.

53:3,4 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. - Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

55:6-9 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: -Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. - For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. - For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

57:15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

59:1-2 Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it can not hear: - But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

61:10a I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, Isaiah 65:24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

Psalm18:1-3a I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. -The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. -I will call upon the LORD, is worthy to be praised:

27:1 The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

27:13-14 I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. -Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. 32:8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

34:4 I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

34:7-8 The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. - O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

42:11 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

55:22 Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

56:3 What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.

57:1 Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.

60:11 Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.

61:2a-3 When my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. -For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.

62:5-8 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. -He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. -In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. -Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Psalm 63:1-2 O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; -To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.

71:1 In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.

73:25-26 Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. -My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

73:28 But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.

84:11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

86:15 But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.

91:4-5 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. -Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

91:11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

91:14-16 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, be cause he hath known my name. -He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. -With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. 103:1-3 Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. -Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: -Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

106:8 Nevertheless he saved them for his name’s sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known.

109:27 That they may know that this is thy hand; that thou, LORD, hast done it.

112:7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.

115:1 Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake.

118:8 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.

118:23-24 This is the LORD’S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes. -This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Psalm 119:75-77 I know, O LORD, that thy judgments are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me. - Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant. - Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law is my delight.

121:1-2 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. -My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

138:3 In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.

138:8 The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: for sake not the works of thine own hands.

137:7-10 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? -If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. -If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; - Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

139:14-18 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. -My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. -Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. - How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! - If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.

145:19 He will fulfill the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.

150:6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.

Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

Matthew 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. - Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. - For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
