Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis wacana, dan model analisis yang digunakan adalalah analisis wacana dari Sara Mills yang merupakan model analisis wacana yang menaruh titik perhatian utama pada wacana mengenai feminisme. -

The attention- getting ne of intimacy is the particle ne that is used within utterances with a flat or a rising intonation. It is commonly assumed that this attention-getting ne is frequently used by children as well as women. Feminine connotations attached to this attention-getting ne when used by men are also noted. The attention-getting ne of intimacy is also said to connote both intimate and over-friendly impressions. On the other hand, recent studies on Japanese femininity have proposed new images that portrays figures of immature and feminine women. Assuming the similarity between the attention-getting ne and new images of Japanese femininity, this thesis aims to reveal the relationship between them. In order to investigate listeners’ perceptions of women who use the attention- getting ne of intimacy with respect to femininity, this thesis employs the matched-guise technique as its primary methodological choice using the presence of attention-getting ne of intimacy as its variable. In addition to the implicit reactions obtained in the matched- guise technique, people’s explicit thoughts regarding being onnarashii ‘womanly’ and kawairashii ‘endearing’ were also collected in the experiment. -
This Period Drama Depicts the Passionate Life of General Gyebaek
This period drama depicts the passionate life of General Gyebaek to show the viewers that the history has been written not by the battle cheers of the victors, but by noble values people have cherished. The drama has no intention to glorify Baekje. Nor to rewrite its suppressed history. Still, for a kingdom that lasted for 680 years, it seems right to address the falsehoods surrounding Baekje that it collapsed because of a tyrant ruler who purportedly was a drunk. Korean Dance and Pansori in D.C.: Interactions with Others, the Body, and Collective Memory at a Korean Performing Arts Studio
ABSTRACT Title of Document: KOREAN DANCE AND PANSORI IN D.C.: INTERACTIONS WITH OTHERS, THE BODY, AND COLLECTIVE MEMORY AT A KOREAN PERFORMING ARTS STUDIO Lauren Rebecca Ash-Morgan, M.A., 2009 Directed By: Professor Robert C. Provine School of Music This thesis is the result of seventeen months’ field work as a dance and pansori student at the Washington Korean Dance Company studio. It examines the studio experience, focusing on three levels of interaction. First, I describe participants’ interactions with each other, which create a strong studio community and a women’s “Korean space” at the intersection of culturally hybrid lives. Second, I examine interactions with the physical challenges presented by these arts and explain the satisfaction that these challenges can generate using Csikszentmihalyi’s theory of “optimal experience” or “flow.” Third, I examine interactions with discourse on the meanings and histories of these arts. I suggest that participants can find deeper significance in performing these arts as a result of this discourse, forming intellectual and emotional bonds to imagined people of the past and present. Finally, I explain how all these levels of interaction can foster in the participant an increasingly rich and complex identity. As the name indicates, the APBioChEC was an organization just for the biochemical engineers in Asia, but since then it evolved into AFOB, expanding its horizon towards a much broader spectrum of biotechnology in Asia. This marvelous growth is all in thanks to those who have devoted so much of their invaluable time since 1990. We all know that this contribution to AFOB does not bring any worldly benefits (at least defined by us, academicians), such as publications and grants. Those who have devoted to the APBioChEC and AFOB surely knew of this from the start. Measuring the time and effort dedicated to these societies of ours, I feel a certain inequality in the mass (value?) balance in their commitment for last 30 years. AFOB might have brought new friends and old as time passed, and accompanying funs depending on their tastes. Still there remains a missing part when comparing the amount of their devotions to and worldly outcome from the AFOB. At this point, I dare to explain this missing part using a Korean term, or possibly ‛업’(OP, 業) which can be defined as a destined job, or personally destined to do this job. -

Of Mice and Maidens: Ideologies of Interspecies Romance in Late Medieval and Early Modern Japan Abstract Interspecies marriage (irui kon'in) has long been a central theme in Japanese literature and folklore. Frequently dismissed as fairytales, stories of interspecies marriage illuminate contemporaneous conceptions of the animal-human boundary and the anxieties surrounding it. This dissertation contributes to the emerging field of animal studies yb examining otogizoshi (Muromachi/early Edo illustrated narrative fiction) concerning elationshipsr between human women and male mice. The earliest of these is Nezumi no soshi ("The Tale of the Mouse"), a fifteenth century ko-e ("small scroll") attributed to court painter Tosa Mitsunobu. Nezumi no soshi was followed roughly a century later by a group of tales collectively named after their protagonist, the mouse Gon no Kami. Unlike Nezumi no soshi, which focuses on the grief of the woman who has unwittingly married a mouse, the Gon no Kami tales contain pronounced comic elements and devote attention to the mouse-groom's perspective. -

Entrance Baekje Cultural Land, the Revival of Baekje Welcome to Baekje Cultural Land, a reconstruction of the ancient Kingdom of Baekje. Baekje dominated the south-western part of the Korean Peninsula from 18 B.C. to 600 A.D. In addition to Baekje, two other kingdoms concurrently occupied the peninsula. They were Goguryeo, which was based in the north of Korea and eastern China, and Silla, based in the south-east of the Korean Peninsula. These three kingdoms influenced each other’s development through a series of conflicts and alliances which unfolded over a 700-year period known as the Three Kingdoms Period. During the 4th century, Baekje’s territory extended towards China under the powerful authoritarian leadership of King Geunchogo. In the following century, the king adopted Buddhism as the national faith and cultivated an independent Buddhist culture. In fact, Baekje was described in various Chinese historical sources as a kingdom with numerous Buddhist temples and pagodas. This brilliant Buddhist culture contributed to the foundation of ancient Japanese culture. During a time when means of transportation weren’t as developed as they are today, Baekje was the conduit for Northeast Asian cultural exchange between China and Japan in terms of art, religion and academic studies. Non-Core Vocabulary Cognates in Ryukyuan and Kyushu* JAROSZ, Aleksandra Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń The present paper provides an overview of eighteen identified likely cognates from Ryukyuan and Kyushu regiolects which the author argues have been inherited from Common Kyushu-Ryukyuan (CKR). The alleged cognates all belong to non-core vocabulary, the working definition of which adopted here is “vocabulary not found on the basic vocabulary lists of Swadesh 200 and Leipzig-Jakarta.” Following Hock (1991), the author presumes that in equal relations between language communities – the relations between Pre-Proto-Ryukyuan speakers while they still inhabited the Kyushu area and speakers of other Kyushu-Japonic regiolects are believed to have been such – the so-called basic vocabulary is no more resistant to borrowing than the non-basic (including culture-specific and environment-specific) lexicon. One can thus infer that a study of non-core vocabulary would be a valuable contribution to the state of knowledge on the history of the southern Japonic language area. Consequently, this paper analyzes the distribution of putative CKR cognates in both Kyushu and the Ryukyus as well as the typology of shared features among them, discussing these against a broader Japonic background when relevant. Preliminary results show the most shared features between the Ryukyuan and Tokara regiolects, encouraging an identification of the final stage of Pre-Ryukyuan with Common Tokara-Ryukyuan. The division of the next lowest order also includes Ōsumi and Koshiki islands, implying that the pre-final stage of Pre-Ryukyuan was what is here called Common Insular Kyushu-Ryukyuan. Analitikus motívumok a koreai mítoszokban, és a sámánizmus gyakorlatában Készítette: Radics Péter PTE-BTK Pszichológia Intézet BA – Levelező 2013-05-06 Dolgozatomban a koreai népcsoport államalapítás mítoszait mutatom be, és elemzem a Carl Gustav Jung által megalkotott analitikus elmélet segítségével. Mivel ezek a mítoszok ősi voltuknak köszönhetően kapcsolatban állnak a koreai népcsoport életében a neolitikus időszaktól kezdve jelenlévő ősi hittel, a sámánizmussal, példákkal szemléltetem e hitvilágban fellelhető archetipikus elemeket is. A koreai sámánista motívumokat párhuzamba állítom a belső-ázsiai népeknél fellelhető sámánisztikus gyakorlattal, kihangsúlyozva a hasonlóságokat, és ellentéteket. Emellett szándékomban áll röviden bemutatni Koreát, és a koreai népcsoportot történelmi, kultúrtörténeti szempontok alapján. A dolgozatomban előforduló koreai szavak átírásakor az államilag elismert, felülvizsgált átírási formát alkalmaztam (Revised Romanization of Korean - 국어의 로마자 표기법)1 . Véleményem szerint ez sokkal átláthatóbban adja vissza a koreai szavak fonetikai sajátosságait, illetve modernebb, mint a McCune – Reischauer átírási forma. A terminológia hangeul-lel (한글) – mely az 1443-ban a Joseon dinasztia2 (1392- 1910) negyedik uralkodójának, Sejong3 királyának rendeletére megalkotott, a mai napig hivatalosan használt koreai fonetikus írás – történő átírását minden esetben feltüntetem.
