Mrs. Ford, Susan and Mrs. Suharto will be met in the We st Java Pavilion by Gov. (Lt. Gen.) and M rs. Ali Sadikin of Jakarta and Gov. (Maj. Gen.) and Mrs. Aang Kunaefi of West Java. Mrs. Ford and Susan will be presented with a Wayang, a puppet often made of leather representing one of the characters in the Indonesian story of Ramayana, a traditional story of the Gods and Goddesses of early religions. Mrs. Ford will plant a Banyan tree between the park's pavilions and lagoon, as visiting wives of heads of state have done since the park was completed. Following the tree planting, Mrs. Ford and Susan will tour the park in an open mini-bus. Before departing for the airport, Mrs. Suharto plans to present Mrs. Ford with a book describing Indonesia Indha (the park) and a set of coins commemorating the park. Mini Indonesia is a large park covering approximately 100 hectacres of land adjacent to the Halim International Airport. It features typical traditional houses of Indonesia representing its 26 provinces. Mrs. Suharto is credited with creating the concept of the park and has been the main driving force in developing it. Mini Indonesia contains a museum, recreation areas, an aviary and zoological park. It also contains orchid gardens, a special interest of Mrs. Suharto's . Wacana ini bisa dianggap sebagai jalan keluar dari kegaduhan politik yang ditimbulkan akibat pemilihan gubernur (pilgub) DKI Jakarta. Pilgub DKI Jakarta bermuara pada iklim politik yang tidak sehat. Polarisasi masyarakat semakin menguat dan itu tidak hanya terjadi di DKI Jakarta tetapi seluruh pelosok negeri. Masyarakat yang secara politik tidak terkait dengan DKI Jakarta pun turut ambil bagian dalam memanaskan situasi politik. Instabilitas politik di DKI Jakarta bisa berdampak pada instabilitas ekonomi. Tulisan ini berusaha menelaah wacana pemilihan gubernur DKI Jakarta oleh presiden dengan menggunakan konsep desentralisasi asimetris. Ada dua mekanisme yang bisa digunakan, yakni mekanisme “minimum demokrasi prosedural” dan “zero demokrasi prosedural”. Studi literatur digunakan untuk menyintesiskan data-data dan argumentasi yang dibangun oleh penulis. Harapannya, tulisan ini bisa memberikan pemikiran dan alternatif baru dalam khazanah ilmu politik, khususnya dalam kajian mengenai pemilihan kepala daerah. Kata Kunci: DKI Jakarta; Pilkada; Desentralisasi Asimetris Pendahuluan Beberapa tahun belakangan, konstelasi politik DKI Jakarta memanas. Dari tiga pilgub yang telah terjadi di Jakarta pasca dipilih langsung oleh rakyat (2007, 2012, dan 2016), pilgub ini tergolong lebih minim gejolak. In its management, the business managed to overcome various challenges of social change occurred during 1943-1983. The purpose of this study was to find out that the government’s policy towards the city of Jakarta from 1943-1983 had a major impact on the food administration process of Soto Betawi Haji Maruf. The research method used is historical research with two main discussions, namely the beginning of the establishment of Soto Maruf (1943-1945), and the dynamics of the mobilization of Soto Maruf (1946-1983) from Boplo Market, Gondangdia Railway Post, Cikini Flower Market, and Taman Ismail Marzuki. The results of this study show that the dynamics of socio-economic changes in Jakarta during 1943-1983 has made Soto Betawi Haji Maruf experience a difficult business process, starting from a peddler walking around in and out kampong, renting a kiosk, eviction events, up to owning a restaurant. The existence of a good business management process made Soto Betawi Haji Maruf able to survive for 40 years in going through various challenges of socio-economic changes in Jakarta during 1943-1983.

Without a doubt, Jakarta has increasingly become the major core of the agglomeration processes transforming it and its satellite cities into a Mega Urban Region (MUR). This paper traces historically the interactions between migration, ethnicities and local politics in Jakarta from the 1960s to the 2000s focusing on the latest development, in which the phenomenon ‘Ahok’, the nickname of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, a Chinese-Christian from the small district of Belitung, has become an increasingly popular Governor of Jakarta. The paper argues that through the recent developments in Jakarta the politics have apparently been transformed into more civic, rather than ethnic politics. One form of material cultural heritage is the various "Minangkabau Traditional Decorative Variety" in Rumah Gadang in West Sumatra whose motifs reflect the noble values of the nation. One of the historical heritage buildings of Indonesia that uses Minangkabau traditional carving is Baso Pagaruyung Palace in Batusangkar, West Sumatra. With the process of making expensive carvings into one of the factors causing this culture has started many abandoned. So it needs to be made a study that discusses the variety of ornamental Minangkabau carving into a written scientific work in order to be known by the public to understand the meaning, structure and philosophy. Using descriptive qualitative research method with interactive analysis, consist of three component of analysis that is data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results of the study explain the structure of the compensation and symbolic meaning of each pattern of carving motifs used in the five sections within the Baso Pagaruyung Palace ie the roundabout, the door, the ventilation, the ceiling, and the palace foot.

October 2013 Abstract How democratisation affects a state's foreign policy is a relatively neglected problem in International Relations. In Indonesia's case, there is a limited, but growing, body of literature examining the country's foreign policy in the post- authoritarian context. Yet this scholarship has tended to focus on the role of Indonesia's legislature and civil society organisations as newly-empowered foreign policy actors. Scholars of Southeast Asian politics, meanwhile, have concentrated on the effects of Indonesia's democratisation on regional integration and, in particular, on ASEAN cohesion and its traditional sovereignty-based norms. For the most part, the literature has completely ignored the effects of democratisation on Indonesia's foreign ministry – the principal institutional actor responsible for foreign policy formulation and conduct of Indonesia's diplomacy.
