MARTIN P. SNYDER, a Philadelphia lawyer, has made a study of the major series of Philadelphia views. Two of his articles on this subject have been published in the MAGAZINE, one dealing with William Birch, the other with J. C. Wild, the lithographer.

ROBERT E. CARLSON is an Assistant Professor of History at the University of Pittsburgh. His paper on Buchanan was read before the Pennsylvania Historical Association last year, and was developed from his research into Buchanan's 1856 political campaign in Western Pennsylvania.

ARTHUR M. LEE is Professor of History and Head of the Social Studies Department at Grand Canyon College, Phoenix, Arizona. He received his doctorate in history from Syracuse University in 1953.

M. NELSON MCGEARY is Professor of History at the Pennsylvania State University. He is the author of several books and co- author of a textbook on Pennsylvania government published in 1950. At present he is writing a political biography of .
