The Yorkshire-horn Duchess has had to cut hack on her official engagements since being diagnosed as suffering from the chronic fatigue syndrome ME in 1996. A spokesman from St James's Palace explained: She thought it was time to give the University of Leeds a chance to find someone younger who could take on the duties she carried out so well for so many years." Vice-Chancellor Alan Wilson said: The Duchess has provided a key element of continuity in our affairs, and acted as our ambassador on the international stage." Pro-Chancellor Colonel Alan Roberts added: -Leeds can count itself singularly fortunate to have had Her Royal Highness as its Chancellor. Her sympathetic interest and involvement in the life of the University has been greatly appreciated, and will certainly be missed." BUT WHO ARE THE LEADING CONTENDERS TO TAKE OVER? • Film, Television and Video Productions Featuring Brass Bands
Film, Television and Video productions featuring brass bands Gavin Holman, October 2019 Over the years the brass bands in the UK, and elsewhere, have appeared numerous times on screen, whether in feature films or on television programmes. In most cases they are small appearances fulfilling the role of a “local” band in the background or supporting a musical event in the plot of the drama. At other times band have a more central role in the production, featuring in a documentary or being a major part of the activity (e.g. Brassed Off, or the few situation comedies with bands as their main topic). Bands have been used to provide music in various long-running television programmes, an example is the 40 or more appearances of Chalk Farm Salvation Army Band on the Christmas Blue Peter shows on BBC1. Bands have taken part in game shows, provided the backdrop for and focus of various commercial advertisements, played bands of the past in historical dramas, and more. This listing of 450 entries is a second attempt to document these appearances on the large and small screen – an original list had been part of the original Brass Band Bibliography in the IBEW, but was dropped in the early 2000s. Some overseas bands are included. Where the details of the broadcast can be determined (or remembered) these have been listed, but in some cases all that is known is that a particular band appeared on a certain show at some point in time - a little vague to say the least, but I hope that we can add detail in future as more information comes to light.

  • Shelby Lynne I Can't Imagine
Shelby Lynne I Can’t Imagine Universal / Concord : 00888072359895 VÖ: 08.05.2015 Songs: Paper Van Gogh / Back Door Front Porch / Sold The Devil (Sunshine) / Son Of A Gun / Down Here / Love s Strong / Better / Be In The Now / Following You / I Can’t Imagine “I threw these colors down in a fit of rage / My feelings hardly fit onto the page” Es fängt, wie immer, mit dieser Stimme an. Einer Stimme, die zu zwei Teilen aus Alabama‐ Sonnenschein und einem Teil aus Memphis‐Regensturm zusammengemixt zu sein scheint und eines der großartigsten Instrumente in der gesamten Popmusik ist. “Cloudy memories make for darker grays / But blue is how I paint myself today” So beginnt Shelby Lynnes dreizehntes Album “I Can’t Imagine”.

ross COfficial newsletter of the R ads 20/20 Vision Str ategic Plan August 2011 Process readies for deeper conversations; community roundtables to take place through fall Approximately 350 people were expected to share their input and ideas through the 20/20 Vision Open House over the five-week period it was “in business” through July 28 at Town Center. (By the time this newsletter was being written in mid-July, some 250 people already had visited the Open House.) With the initial community input phase of Suwanee’s 20/20 Vision strategic planning process complete, the City of Suwanee is shifting gears, still seeking input and ideas, but in a more in-depth fashion. Small-group roundtable discussions are expected to take place throughout the fall. Suwanee area residents are encouraged to be part of these potentially com- munity-changing conversations. Sign up is available at and at City Hall. www.suwanee2020.com These facilitated conversations in groups of 10-12 people could begin as early as late August. Those who sign up will be assigned to a group, and each group is expected to meet for about two hours at a time with approximately four meet- ings anticipated through the fall. “This is an opportunity for community members to get together for rich discussions about important topics regarding Suwanee’s future,” notes Assistant to the City Manager Jessica Roth. “The groups are designed to allow residents a chance to get to know another, to feel safe, and to come to understand one another’s passions.” Stonecypher resident Scott Auer is one of 27 community members serving on the 20/20 Vision steering committee.

Five-Sided Smile A COLLECTION OF SHORT AND NOT-SO SHORT STORIES BY CRAIG CAVANAGH STORY 1 Doing God’s Work In a police station that could be any and probably is, DC Carson and DS Vaughan are interviewing someone just brought in by the foot people. He was found stand- ing over a corpse with a small exKGB issue pistol which even the most dubious criminologist in the world would suggest was the murder weapon. Initial tests have concluded that the victim was unknown to the accused and the crime ap- pears to be motiveless. What gets our two guardians of law and order’s noses up is that the accused, at least at the moment, feels no remorse for his actions. The pair have had to temporarily leave the interview room as Vaughan’s patience was beginning to wear thin and in these moments only his friends Messers. Dunhill and Nescafé can tranquillise that innate cop instinct. Carson nods, suggesting that it’s time to go back and, drawing a deep breath, Vaughan enters followed by Car- son. Carson begins the tape, announcing the date and time and embarks on a new line of questioning: “Please then, tell me in your own words, how you came to be in the vicinity of the crime, and what you knew about the deceased. You mentioned something about God” Carson patiently began. “Something about God?” responded the accused almost breaking into a laugh, “Well, the way I see it is, that God and, of course, religion is pretty subjective. Do you not think? In my case I’ve been around for more than a while and I’ve seen the changes.
