Analyse des Dabiq-Magazins MEMORIA PARA OPTAR AL GRADO DE DOCTOR PRESENTADA POR Miguel Ángel Martín Blanco DIRECTOR Jorge Lozano Hernández AGRADECIMIENTOS En primer lugar, debo dar gracias a mi familia: a mis padres, a mi hermano, a mis tías… pues si finalmente he podido llegar hasta aquí es porque gracias a su apoyo he tenido una buena educación, pude estudiar Filosofía y siempre he podido decidir, aunque no sin dificultades, qué quería hacer en el futuro. Gracias a ellos he sabido lo importante que es valorar el esfuerzo y la honestidad en la realización de un buen trabajo. También debo agradecer a Jorge Lozano, no sólo su dirección, sino también la confianza que ha depositado en mí como investigador principal durante el proyecto de investigación del que he sido becario FPI y como director del Grupo de Estudios de Semiótica de la Cultura (GESC) del que actualmente formo parte. Gracias a su guía, a su amistad y a su labor investigadora y docente he descubierto la pasión por la Semiótica y, lo que es incluso más importante, he vuelto a creer en la Universidad. No puedo olvidarme aquí de mis compañeros del GESC, con quienes he tenido la oportunidad de aprender y discutir durante estos últimos cuatro años en el Seminario permanente del grupo. Gracias a Maria Albergamo (†), a Pablo Francescutti, a Marcello Serra, a Rayco González, a Oscar Gómez, a Regiane Miranda, a Fábio Sadao y, muy especialmente, a Valeria Burgio, que con tanto aprecio y dedicación me atendió en la Freie Universität Bozen durante mi estancia de investigación. A este respecto también debo agradecer a la profesora Dorothy Zinn la oportunidad que me brindó de poder realizar esta estancia en Bolzano, así como sus recomendaciones bibliográficas. Durante este periodo también pude conocer el Centro Studi sulle Arti della Russia (CSAR) de la Università Ca´Foscari Venezia, dirigido por la traductora al italiano de Lotman Silvia Burini; y el Centro di Semiotica e Teoria dell’Immagine “Omar Calabrese”, dirigido por el semiólogo Tarcisio Lancioni y en que pude discutir con investigadores como Cristina Addis o Giacomo Tagliani. Quiero dar las gracias también a quienes durante este tiempo se han acercado a los seminarios del GESC y han confiado en mí cuando había que organizar alguna jornada o conferencia en la Facultad de Ciencias de la Información. Gracias Asja Fior, Oleg Lukin, Ying Qiao Pan, Marta Swain, Ana Sánchez, Clara Santaolaya, Rodrigo García, Raquel Nogal, Alberto Espinosa, Inma Paredela, Manuel Espinosa,… En ese sentido, también agradezco a la Asociación Española de Semiótica (AES) y a la revista DeSignis, en especial a Charo Lacalle, a Ainara Miguel, a Santos Zunzunegui, a Lucrecia Escudero y a Teresa Velázquez, su atención y disposición cuando les he hecho llegar algún tipo de propuesta con la que promocionar y dar visibilidad a jóvenes investigadores en el ámbito de la semiótica. En este punto, es obligado reconocer también el buen trato recibido por parte del Departamento de Periodismo y Nuevos Medios durante mi periodo como investigador en formación, concretamente por parte de su director y subdirector, los profesores Fernando Quirós y Joaquín Sotelo, quienes han apoyado firmemente jornadas tan importantes como ‘Lotman y la historia del presente’, una Jornada Internacional celebrada en la facultad con motivo del del XXV aniversario del fallecimiento de Yuri M. Lotman y de la publicación de Cultura y explosión. Gracias a este tipo de jornadas, conferencias, congresos, seminarios, he tenido la oportunidad de discutir sobre diferentes aspectos de mi investigación con semiólogos reconocidos internacionalmente como Tarcisio Lancioni, Gianfranco Marrone, Eric Landowski, Franciscu Sedda, Juan Alonso o Steffano Traini. A todos ellos les agradezco su tiempo, sus consejos y sus reflexiones, muy especialmente a Paolo Fabbri, guía fundamental del GESC y que siempre ha estado dispuesto a atender con amabilidad mis dudas y sugerencias a la hora de enfocar el objeto de esta tesis. Prueba del afecto que desde el GESC tenemos a Fabbri son los volúmenes Elogio del conflicto (Sequitur) y Documento del presente. Una mirada semiótica (Lengua de trapo). Este último, bajo la coordinación de Jorge Lozano y mía, recoge algunos de los resultados del proyecto ‘El periodista como historiador del presente. Análisis del documento en las nuevas formas de la información’ (Ref: CSO2014-55527-P), y pudo editarse gracias a la implicación de Jorge Lago, que desde el primer momento no dudó en apoyar esta publicación. Debo agradecer aquí también a Carmen Asenjo, gerente de Revista de Occidente, su sensibilidad hacia la semiótica a la hora de tomar en consideración la posibilidad de publicar las entrevistas que he realizado a Paolo Fabbri, Eric Landowski o Tarcisio Lancioni. Por último, quiero hacer un reconocimiento especial a la familia de Prada, a Luis y a Lola, por su cariño. Its central figure is the theologian and print entrepreneur Mehmed Džemaludin Čaušević (1870-1938), who returned to his Austro-Hungarian-occupied home province from extended studies in the Ottoman lands at the start of this period with an ambitious agenda of communal reform. Čaušević’s project centered on tying his native land and its Muslim inhabitants to the wider “Islamic World”—a novel geo-cultural construct he portrayed as a viable model for communal modernization. Over the subsequent decade, he and his followers founded a printing press, standardized the writing of Bosnian in a modified Arabic script, organized the country’s Ulema, and linked these initiatives together in a string of successful Arabic-script, Ulema-led, and theologically modernist print publications. By 1914, Čaušević’s supporters even brought him to a position of institutional power as Bosnia-Herzegovina’s Reis-ul-Ulema (A: raʾīs al-ʿulamāʾ), the country’s highest Islamic religious authority and a figure of regional influence between two empires.

It focuses on the practice of using lot-casting to allocate inheritance shares, conquered land, and official functions, and briefly surveys the history of this practice from ancient through Hellenistic to pre-Islamic times in order to examine its Islamic forms as reflected in historical and legal sources. It is argued that the evidence does suggest continuity between the ancient and the Islamic Near East, above all in the first century of the hijra, but also long thereafter, if only at a fairly low level of juristic interest. The article concludes with some general consideration of the problems involved in the study of the two disconnected periods of Near Eastern at Columbia University Libraries on June 29, 2010 history. Çocukluğumda bu medresenin geniş da­ mında arkadaşlarımla çok oynarnıştım. Mahallemize yakın Raşit Efendi Kütüphanesi bulunmakta idi. Raşit Efendi 18. yüzyılın tamnmış bir reisülküttabıdır. Kayseri'de özellikle değerli yazma eserlerden oluşan, zamanla bazı matbu eserler ve ansiklopedilerin de ilave edildiği zengin ve şirin bir kütüphane tesis etmiş. Okuldan çıkınca ve bilhassa hafta sonlarında büyük bir kubbe ile örtülü geniş okuma salonunda çalışmak­ tan zevk alırdım. Bizim yaşunızda başka birkaç arkadaş da oranın müdavimi idi. Bazen kütüphaneye yabancı turistler gelir, anlamasam da onlara verilen izahatı dikkatle dinlerdim. Kütüphanede idam mezunu, medreseden yetişmiş, sürekli sorular sordu­ ğumuz ve bize yardımcı olan, Naci Bey adında bir müdür vardı. Dolayısıyla o kültürürı içerisinde bulunmaktan o tarihlerde zevk alır olmuştum.

    STUDY Consumed by War The End of Aleppo and Northern Syria’s Political Order KHEDER KHADDOUR October 2017 n The fall of Eastern Aleppo into rebel hands left the western part of the city as the re- gime’s stronghold. A front line divided the city into two parts, deepening its pre-ex- isting socio-economic divide: the west, dominated by a class of businessmen; and the east, largely populated by unskilled workers from the countryside. The mutual mistrust between the city’s demographic components increased. The conflict be- tween the regime and the opposition intensified and reinforced the socio-economic gap, manifesting it geographically. n The destruction of Aleppo represents not only the destruction of a city, but also marks an end to the set of relations that had sustained and structured the city. The conflict has been reshaping the domestic power structures, dissolving the ties be- tween the regime in Damascus and the traditional class of Aleppine businessmen. These businessmen, who were the regime’s main partners, have left the city due to the unfolding war, and a new class of business figures with individual ties to regime security and business figures has emerged. n The conflict has reshaped the structure of northern Syria – of which Aleppo was the main economic, political, and administrative hub – and forged a new balance of power between Aleppo and the north, more generally, and the capital of Damascus. The new class of businessmen does not enjoy the autonomy and political weight in Damascus of the traditional business class; instead they are singular figures within the regime’s new power networks and, at present, the only actors through which to channel reconstruction efforts.

This paper describes the essential methodological principles of fiqh al- aqalliyat, and examines how scholars of fiqh al-aqalliyyat apply these principles to the unique issues faced by Muslim minorities. The legal opinions of minority fiqh scholars show that Muslim minorities can be both good Muslims and good citizens. This thesis also considers whether or not the juristic methodology and topics of fiqh al-aqalliyyat are in fact unique.     Weekly Conflict Summary October 5-11, 2017 ISIS forces mounted a counterattack on government positions in Syria’s east, gaining new territory in the southeast of opposition-held Idleb, and losing further territory around Deir Ezzor city to pro-government forces and Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF, a Kurdish-led coalition backed by the US). A new Turkish incursion into Syria has been observed south of SDF-held Afrin, after reaching a deal with local fighters from Hai’yat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, formerly Al-Qaeda-linked Jabhat al-Nusra). Protests have erupted against an ongoing pro-government bombing campaign in Idleb, which remains intense. Figure 1 - Areas of control in Syria by October 11, with arrows indicating advances since the start of the reporting period 1 of 4 Weekly Conflict Summary – October 5-11, 2017 Fight against ISIS The situation in and around Sokhneh remains unclear, with no indication that pro-government forces retook territory they lost in the previous reporting period. Several towns in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, including al-Shola, have also not yet been recaptured by pro-government forces. Though these recent ISIS offensives have cut the main road to Deir Ezzor, pro-government forces can still reach the city from the north. Figure 2 - Frontlines southwest of Deir Ezzor city by October 11 On October 9-10, pro-government forces advanced upstream on the east bank of the Euphrates River into ISIS controlled territory, gaining control of the Hatla area and reaching the highway and the eastern end of the destroyed Siyassiyeh Bridge. This advance is a significant step towards the pro-government forces’ encirclement of the remaining ISIS-controlled districts of Deir Ezzor city.
