  • Depth Geological Relations of the Wider Area of Belgrade - Based on the Wells and Geophysical Data

The authors integrated the principal geological and geo - physical data provided by surface works and multidisciplinary elements from the fifty-two wells with depths between 33 and 2,733 m. Explicit paleontolo - gical findings of specialized analytists with determinations of macro- and mi - crofauna and flora are presented both from Neogene formations and the older basinal floor. In addition to conventional petrological descriptions of rocks, microscopic determinations of intrusive and extrusive magmatites were also cited. From the enclosed basin space, the mineralization of deep aquifers is also correlative positioned. From the geophysical data for wells deeper than 400 m, records of well logging measurements were used, with markers based Key words: on which valid stratigraphic delimitations were made. DR. Anahtar Kelimeler: Belgrad, Belgrad Kalesi, Osmanlı Devleti, Sırplar, Sırp İsyanları, Miloş Obrenovic III ABSTRACT BELGRADE BEFORE THE PRINCIBILITY OF SERBIA: 1792-1830 NURBANU DURAN After the Ottoman Empire lost Belgrade in 1718, Vidin undertook the duties of the region for a while, however the capture of Belgrade by the Ottomans in 1739 was not enough for Belgrad to regain its old importance. In other words, the state began to see Belgrade as a land that would be discarded soon. As a result of this approach, Belgrade was handed over to the Austria by janissaries without defending during the 1788-91 Ottoman-Austrian War.

Of these, five are new to the fauna of the Balkan Peninsula and four are recorded for the first time for the republics of former Yugoslavia. Contarinia lini Simova & Skuhravá, the description of which was published in 2007, is a new species to science whose terra typica is Novi Beograd. Recorded in Serbia for the first time in 2007, Obolodiplosis robiniae (Haldeman, 1847) is an invasive species introduced from North America. Key words: Diptera, Cecidomyiidae, fauna, gall midges, new records INTRODUCTION Investigations of gall midges conducted to date on the territory of Serbia have established the presence of 283 species, and 24 more species of as yet undescribed galls with gall midge larvae that probably represent species new to science have also been found. After the administrative establishment of the province of Pannonia this road became the main communication route, in the west-east direction, between Italy and the eastern provinces, especially with Pannonia and Moesia. The start of the road, which we follow in the context of the ARCHEST project, was in Aquileia, then across Emona to Neviodunim, passing Aquae Iassae towards Siscia and onwards into Sirmium, Singidunum and Viminacium. Myth-shrouded beginnings: the Amber Road and the Argonauts The territory of modern Slovenia was already covered with various routes during prehistoric times.

  • 10. Daily Urban System of Belgrade Srboljub Stamenković, Dragica Gatarić
GeograFF 8 10. Daily urban system of Belgrade Srboljub Stamenković, Dragica Gatarić The explanation of the dominant characteristics of daily urban system of Belgrade, which represents the main functional knot of the Republic of Serbia by the functional capac- ity as well as by the spatial range of daily interaction of people, capital and information, we have based on studying the spatial-demographic and settlement aspects of daily migrations of labour, pupils and students. Both our and previous experiences in study- ing the phenomenon of daily migrations of the population in Serbia have been based exclusively or in the most of the cases on the field-work researches of daily circulations of people, its territorial framework and structural characteristics. Those researches have mainly local, sub-regional and regional character. As such, they enable the partial study of smaller daily urban systems. The scientific notions on daily urban systems and their function are modest because of that and mostly imbued by ‘whiteness’, if it can be said so. After all, it has been stated for many times in scientific discussions that the existing theoretical and empirical notions on population migrations, and also on daily migrations in geographical studies of the settlement net (Stamenković, 1996), are partial, insufficient and mainly imprecise, as well as that their study is handicapped by the imperfection of the theory (Petrovic, Blagojević, 1989). Moreover, in science, as in the European and world relations (Gottmann,1961; Berry, 1964; Lee, Mc Donald, 2003) so in the scientific researches in Serbia, the significance and the need of studying the phenomena of daily migrations of the population and daily (local) urban systems have been emphasized for many times (Stamenković, 1998; Tošić, Nevenić, 2007).

  • Reconstruction of Buried Objects by Implementation of Ground Penetrating Radar Technique: Example on Roman Tomb in Brestovik (Serbia)
Geoarchaeology and Archaeomineralogy (Eds. R. I. Kostov, B. Gaydarska, M. Gurova). 2008. RECONSTRUCTION OF BURIED OBJECTS BY IMPLEMENTATION OF GROUND PENETRATING RADAR TECHNIQUE: EXAMPLE ON ROMAN TOMB IN BRESTOVIK (SERBIA) Milena Cukavac 1, Goran Klemčić 2, Časlav Lazović 3 1Geomagnetic Institute, Belgrade, Serbia; [email protected] 2Center for the Skin-Deep Mining, Belgrade, Serbia; [email protected] 3Municipal Computer Center, Belgrade, Serbia; [email protected] ABSTRACT. The fast development of radar techniques and computer software in the last ten years, play an important role in applied sciences including archaeology. In archaeology, there is lot of excavations and this science is seeking for modernization of detection methods and methods of determining not only buried objects but also defining cultural layers. This paper discusses the possibility of implementation of ground penetrating radar in solving some of the specified problems at a well known, excavated and preserved site which is a tomb from the III c. AD found near the present day cemetery of the village of Brestovik near Belgrade (Serbia). Introduction The Late Antiquity tomb in the Brestovik village, near Belgrade, was discovered in 1895 by M. Valtrović. Revision investigations were performed in the 1950s, and in the beginning of the 1960s protection activities have been carried out on the site. Spatial distribution The Brestovik tomb is situated within the wider area of Singidunum (Fig. 1 presents the approximate position of the major settlements in the Roman period as well as their relation to Brestovik).
