We welcome this opportunity to respond to Ofcom’s Royal Mail Access Pricing Review and have tailored our response to respond to the consultation questions most relevant to our membership and on which we believe we are best placed to comment. Ofcom’s proposed amendments to zonal access pricing regulation 2. Ofcom is concerned that the existing Universal Service Provider (USP) access condition is not working as it envisioned in 2012 and may not promote efficiency, promote effective competition, and confer significant benefits on the users of postal services. It believes quick regulatory intervention is needed to reduce the risks to end-to-end competitors, such as Whistl, from the current pricing flexibility Royal Mail is afforded on zonal access mail. Species invading natural areas in Hungary have been described by a number of books published in the Practical Experiences in Invasive Alien Plant Control last few years. A great amount of experience has been gathered about the control of these species in some areas, which we can read about in an increasing number of articles; however, no book has been published with regards to the whole country. Invasions affecting larger areas require high energy and cost input, and the effectiveness and successfulness of control can be infl uenced by a number of factors. The development of effective, widely applicable control and eradication technologies is preceded by experiments and examinations which are based on a lot of practical experience and often loaded with negative experiences. National park directorates, forest and agricultural managers and NGOs in many parts of Hungary are combatting the spread of invasive species; however, the exchange of information and conclusion of experiences among the managing bodies is indispensable. The aim of the present volume is to facilitate this by summarizing experiences and the methods applied in practice; which, we hope, will enable us to successfully stop the further spread of invasive plant species and effectively protect our natural values. The national postal operator in Denmark said the disruption to its communications systems also meant that customers were unable to contact customer service regarding their inability to track their packages. Despite the problems, the company insisted yesterday that it is now back to delivering letters and parcels on time. Post & Parcel: PostNL will be increasing its prices from the beginning of August, with the basic rate for a domestic letter rising 11% to 60c. The Dutch postal service said the rate increases are necessary to counter the impacts of the country’s 8-10% annual decline in mail volumes. Letters going to European destinations will see rates rise to 96c, while letters going to the rest of the world will be charged at EUR 1. Business rates will also increase from 1st August, the company said. The basic rate for franked mail will be EUR 0.52. Despite beginning a “rigorous” series of restructuring effort and cost-saving plans, PostNL said its universal postal service is loss- making as a result of the large volume declines, while it continues to meet its obligation to guarantee mail delivery within 24 hours and maintain networks of 2,000 post offices and 15,000 mailboxes.

Beside these areas a new demand emerged: accurate point cloud acquisition and post-processed results in engineering survey. This technology could broaden the field of engineering survey, although the limited accuracy has to be carefully considered. Former mailman Richard Farrell was accused of burning letters back in 2010 and now he's admitting that what he didn't burn, he buried in his backyard. Police have found the burial ground for 35,000 pieces of mail in Belfair, Washington. The mailman says he did it because he didn't like his job and he wanted to spend his days at a local tavern instead of working. Wall Street Journal: Belgium reached a deal early Saturday to curb government spending and sell €1 billion of state-owned assets in order to meet European Union budget goals. It will cut spending on railways, the postal service, defence, development aid and other areas by €249 million.
