PERSOONIA Volume 18, Part 4, 505-510 (2005) A new species of Gymnopilus (Cortinariaceae) from sandy soils in Pinus forests A. Ortega1 & F. Esteve-Raventós;2 The new species GymnopilusarenophilusA. Ortega& Esteve-Rav. is described. It is characterized by itsparticular habitat in sandy, sometimes burned, soils of thermophil- from ous Pinus forests.Macroscopically G. arenophilus resembles G.penetrans, which it differs in the larger spores and the scarcely bitter taste. Microscopically G. areno- philus reminds of G. fulgens, with which it has probably been mistaken in the past. The latter has different ornamentation species very macroscopical features, spore and a paludicolous habitat. A discussion ofEuropean and some non-Europeanrelated species is also given. Gymnopilus arenophilus has been found in large amounts in the province of Sevilla carried out of to (Spain) in the last years, during a research project by one us (A.O.) compile and list the mycobiota of the macromycetes growing in an area close to the river Guadiamar basin. This territory suffered in April 1998 an important ecological damage, caused by a toxic mineralwaste after the breaking of a mining pond (Cabezudo et al., 2003; Ortega, 2003). One of the most interesting areas of study in this territory communities has been the Mediterraneanplant which develop on sandy soils, such as the thermo-mediterranean xero-psammophilous cork-oak forests (Myrto communis- Querceto suberis halimietoso halimifolii S. (Cabezudo et al., 2003)). These cork-oak forests, which always develop in acid soils, are often wide open forests, accompanied by pines (Pinus pinea) and evergreen oaks (Quercus ilex subsp. ballota), with the pres- of in Previous contributions the ence 'jaras' (Cistus spp.) those more degraded spots. -

Ecologische Atlas Van Paddenstoelen in Drenthe
Hoofdstuk 15 219 Summary volume 1-3 Hoofdstuk 15 Eef Arnolds The Ecological Atlas of fungi in Drenthe presents the results of mycofloristic and myco-ecological research in the period 1800-2014 in Drenthe. This province occupies an area of 2626 km2 in the northeastern part of the Netherlands. The publication concentrates on records in the period 1999-2010, when systematic mapping of fungi was carried out by a group of volunteers, united in the Paddestoelen Werkgroep Drenthe (‘Fungi Studygroup Drenthe’). It is based on over 400,000 records on 2350 species of fungi. This work is divided into three volumes. Volume 1 is the introductory part, including chapters on e.g. regional history of mycology, methodology, presentation of the results, changes in the regional mycoflora, general distribution patterns of fungi, threatened species, mycological hotspots, species newly described from Drenthe in the past and species discovered in Drenthe since 2010. It contains also a general index of species, treated in volumes 1-3, and a complete list of references to literature. Fungal species are treated in an ecological context. Each species has been assigned to a certain ecological group. Each chapter is devoted to an ecological group and its characteristic species. Volume 2 treats the fungi growing in grasslands, heathlands, moorlands, marshy forests and urban environments. Volume 3 treats the fungi growing in forests on mesic to dry soils, as well as fungi from burnt places. The content of each chapter is summarized below. Ecological Atlas of fungi in Drenthe, volume 1 or absence of regional knowledge of some taxonomic groups. -

Communities of Larger Fungi of Ombrotrophic Bogs in West Siberia
Communities of larger fungi of ombrotrophic bogs in West Siberia N.V. Filippova1 and M.N. Thormann2 1Yugra State University, Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia 2Aquilon Environmental Consulting Ltd., Edmonton, Canada _______________________________________________________________________________________ SUMMARY Bogs are common ecosystems in the Taiga of West Siberia. Little is known about mycological diversity in these important ecosystems. This article summarises the results of a two-year study of the macrofungi in two bogs near the town of Khanty-Mansiysk. Sporocarps were collected in 20 plots (about 300 m2) established in Mukhrino Bog as well as during random walks in Mukhrino Bog and Chistoe Bog in the late summer– autumn of 2012 and 2013. The plots were established in two common bog habitats representing the Ledo- Sphagnetum fusci (LS) and Scheuchzerio palustris-Sphagnetum cuspidati (SS) plant community associations. A total of 59 distinct fungal taxa were collected from the two bogs, with the LS association having a higher species richness and diversity than the SS association (50 taxa vs. 16 taxa and 30–40 taxa per 1000 m2 vs. 6– 10 taxa per 1000 m2, respectively). Each of the two plant community associations has its own characteristic fungal taxa, with the LS association having 13 characteristic taxa and the SS association having five. Nearly two thirds of the fungal taxa are saprotrophic, mainly of Sphagnum spp., while others are mycorrhizal, mainly with Pinus spp. Most taxa were collected fewer than ten times during the study period and, -

This study summarizes research data of the last 50 years on basidiomes and ascomycetes from sudds in the Carpathian and Pannonian Regions in Europe. The 76 basidiomycetes taxa collected from Sphagnum sudds (282 collections) belong to 3 orders (Agaricales, Boletales and Russulales), 15 families, and 25 genera. The 77 collections from non-Sphagnum sudds contained 33 species representing 4 orders (the above mentioned and Cantharellales), 12 families and 18 genera. -
