Perched on the edge of the Black Sea with its beautiful beaches and sailing, Sochi Autodrom pulls together so much of what makes an F1® event next-level spectacular. At 5.8KM in length and its layout is largely dictated by the locations of the various Olympic buildings and the Sochi Medals Plaza. Looking at a map of the track, a long run from the start-finish line awaits, through the right-handed kink that is turn one, to the most prevalent passing place at turn two. Your eye can’t help but be drawn to the epic Turn 3, a 750m constant-radius left-hander taking the drivers around the outside of the dramatic Poyushchiye fountain. • Communiqué De Presse
Communiqué De Presse 12 AVRIL 2015 Chinese Grand Prix race report Today’s Chinese Grand Prix came to a disappointing conclusion with just one Renault powered car collecting points. Infiniti Red Bull Racing driver Daniel Ricciardo finished in ninth position, having recovered from a slow start off the line. Scuderia Toro Rosso passed the flag in 14th position with Carlos Sainz. Key race points: Daniel Ricciardo had a very slow start from seventh on the grid and dropped back to P17 at the end of the first lap. Despite setting a good pace, the Australian was caught in traffic and progress through the field was tricky. After a two stop race he finished in ninth. Daniil Kvyat retired on lap 16 with an ICE failure. Scuderia Toro Rosso’s Max Verstappen put in another fighting performance, overtaking multiple cars throughout the race. The Dutchman looked set for eighth position but just two laps from the end stopped suddenly on the pit straight with an ICE problem. Teammate Carlos Sainz enjoyed a good start, but spun on the second lap and dropped down the order. A reported gearbox problem mid race caused a momentary loss of power but heavy traffic made it difficult to make an impression on the field. The Spaniard came home in 14th. Rémi Taffin, Director of Operations: We had a number of issues in China and did not give the drivers the equipment they needed. We developed a car system problem in Qualifying on Daniel’s car so we changed the ICE as a precaution. Then we had two unforeseen failures in the race.

Communiqué De Presse 27 JUILLET 2014 Hungarian Grand Prix Race Report HUNGARIAN GRAND PRIX RACE REPORT Infiniti Red Bull RacingRenault driver Daniel Ricciardo raced to victory in today’s absorbing Hungarian Grand Prix. Daniel’s win, the second for the team and for the Renault Energy F12014 Power Unit this season, came after a thrilling threeway battle for the lead with Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso and Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton. Sebastian Vettel secured seventh position for Infiniti Red Bull Racing and JeanEric Vergne ninth for Scuderia Toro Rosso, putting three Renault Energy F12014 Power Units into the top ten. The result consolidates Infiniti Red Bull Racing’s second position in the constructors’ championship and Daniel Ricciardo’s third in the drivers’ race. Key race points: Daniel Ricciardo mastered the everevolving track conditions to move into the lead on lap 9 during the first safety car period. He retained the lead until the second deployment of the safety car and then pitted for a third time in the final third of the race. The Australian hunted down Rosberg for P3, then made a bravado move on Lewis Hamilton for second on lap 67. The next lap he outbraked Alonso into the first corner for the lead and eased out a cushion of five seconds to seal his second career win and the second for the Renault Energy F12014 Power Unit. Sebastian Vettel was sitting in the top three until the first safety car. Pulling into the pits a lap after the following pack dropped him down the field, into the middle of a closefought battle for fourth position with Vergne, Rosberg and Hamilton.

  • F1 Advent Calendar 2012 (Day 15) – Ten for Twelve
F1 Advent Calendar 2012 (Day 15) – Ten for twelve Hello and welcome to the F1 Advent Calendar 2012. This is our mini series taking a look at the highs and lows of the season Just gone, the key moments that made it a pretty incredible year. Today we are moving towards the rear of the grid where an intense battle was playing out. This is Day Fifteen - Ten for twelve. The talk from Caterham ahead of the 2012 season was all about moving forward and away from the other new teams they started their time in Formula One with. Two tenth place season finishes in a row had seen them with a cash inJection, and the hope was for them to take a leap forward and start scoring points. The double retirement in Australia wasn’t exactly the start they were looking for, but a 13th place in Mon- aco for Kovalainen and a similar result in Valencia for Petrov meant the team were keeping a comfortable hold on their tenth place. Then came the Singapore Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton put in a pretty fabulous lap to secure pole position on the Saturday, whilst all eyes were on the Williams pair. Pastor Maldonado was proving his pace in the car by hauling the Williams up to second place on the grid, whilst Bruno Senna crashed out in second qualify- ing, finding his way towards one of those pesky walls. The Ferrari drivers were split, with Fernando Alonso up in fifth, and Felipe Massa in thirteenth. Lining up on the front row of the grid, after a minute of silence paying tribute to Sid Watkins, Hamilton pre- pared for the lights to go out and the race to begin.

  • F1 Advent Calendar 2012 (Day 2) – Melbourne Masterclass
F1 Advent Calendar 2012 (Day 2) – Melbourne masterclass Hello, thank you for Joining me for the second episode of the F1 Advent Calendar 2012. We’ve already be- gun our Journey through the key moments of the season Just gone, with a review of the early testing. Now it’s time for the racing to get going, so let’s get to it with Day Two - Melbourne masterclass. We know by now that Australia tends to deliver a chaotic and unpredictable race - one that doesn’t neces- sarily foreshadow how the season will play out, but kicks things off in style. The 2012 race did not let us down, starting with an intriguing qualifying session. The McLaren team were on form, with Lewis Hamilton pipping teammate Jenson Button to pole position. Behind them, a surprising Romain GrosJean showed yet more pace from Lotus. The Red Bull pair were fifth and sixth with Mark Webber ahead, whilst the Ferrari duo struggled considerably - both unable to get into the top ten. Sergio Pérez fell foul to an early gearbox penalty, dropping five places, whilst both HRT drivers failed to complete laps within the 107% time required.
