However the percentage Puntland confirmed cases in Somaliland has increases from 12 percent last update to 19 percent. 8% Comparison of confirmed cases by States The number of confirmed cases in Benadir has decreased by 10 percent from 26th May to 9th June 2020, while Somaliland confirmed cases have increased by 6 percent. Since the first COVID-19 confirmed case, males are the highest compared to the Male females. 72% Comparison of Somalia with its Neighboring Countries FIGURE 5: COVID-19 EVENTS COMPARISON OF SOMALIA WITH ITS NEIGHBORING Figure 5 shows that Djibouti has reported the COUNTRIES highest number of confirmed COVID-19 cases (4278) followed by Kenya (2862) whereas the 27 least confirmed COVID-19 cases was reported by ETHIOPIA 379 Ethiopia (2156). 2156 85 SOMALIA 486 Somalia was ranked the third among its 2409 neighboring countries (2409). On the other 85 KENYA 873 hand, It has been observed that Somalia and 2862 Kenya has the highest number of deaths (85, 31 DJIBOUTI 2139 each) whereas the lowest number of deaths was 4278 in Ethiopia (27 deaths). Deaths Recoveries Total cases Case Fatality Rates of the COVID-19 pandemic Figure 6: Case Fatality Rates Of COVID -19 The Case Fatality Rate (CFR) is the ratio between confirmed deaths and confirmed cases. Based on the comparison of CFR in Somalia and its neighboring countries, Somalia reported highest at 3.5% deaths per 100 confirmed cases 3.5% 3.0% followed by Kenya 3% while Djibouti was the lowest only 0.7% per 100 confirmed cases as 1.3% shown in Figure 6. 0.7% As of June 9, 2020, almost 4 persons die in every 100 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Somalia. Overall, Benadir region has declined drastically from early May to the last week of May (from 244 to 66 cases per week) and slightly increased again to 143 on the second week of June, while Somaliland cases increased throughout May and thereafter dropped from 129 cases per week to 117 cases per week on first week of June. There were no Significant changes for the rest of the states.
