PRICES PAID TO GROWERS

GEORGIA (via: Phoenix, Arizona)

The pecan season is getting underway a little later than originally estimated due to wet weather conditions and the nuts still opening up and getting ready to be harvested. Pawnee is showing up on the market and some Moneymakers, Seedlings and possibly Desirables will be ready to market this week depending upon the weather. Early estimates for are 110 to 120 million pounds. Very light door deliveries have been brought in and are too few to establish market prices. Some are getting docked for having too much moisture. Price quotes for Seedlings at the door are starting at 75-80 cents.

Prices paid to growers (September 28 through October 6, 2015) at buyers delivery point or F.O.B. the orchard including direct sales to end users, cents per pound in-shell of generally good quality. Very light sales of Pawnee were reported. Prices include trailer load lots and lots under 20,000 pounds.

Pawnee (deliveries very light) 54-56% yield ( count 50-54) 300-308 mostly 300 smaller nuts counting 60-69 brought in 248-285 cents per pound.
