• Established in 1997 and Incorporated in 2009 • Assisted First Nation Citizens (for over twenty three years) to stay in or re-enter the labour force • Acted as a Local Delivery Mechanism (LDM) under the Union of Indians (UOI) Anishinabek – Indigenous Skills Employment Training (ISET) Agreement Holder until July 1, 2019 • Approved as a stand alone ISET Agreement Holder with Canada as of July 2, 2019 • One of twenty two ISET Agreement Holders in Ontario, under a 10 year program with Service Canada to: • Improve skills levels, and • Improve employment outcomes • Offers direct programs and services connecting education to training to employment solutions for 9 member First Nation Communities (within the North Superior Region) which represents approximately 8,500 First Nation Citizens

• The ISET Program builds on what was successful about ASETS and reflects what was heard from Indigenous partners. It includes:

• new distinctions-based strategies and funding streams that will help meet the unique needs of , Métis, Inuit and urban/non-affiliated Indigenous people; • greater focus on the full continuum of skills development, from essential skills to skills upgrading; • greater flexibility for Indigenous organizations to design programming to meet the needs of their people and communities; • reduced administrative burden; and • increased funding to support predictable and stable training and skills development over the next 10 years.

• 22 Ontario ISET Program Agreement Holders in 2019/20, represent a federal investment of $72.5 million (see below chart) in the ISET Service Delivery Network to be continued with increases over the next 10 years until 2028/29 in the following priority areas: training for skills development; training for employment; mentoring for in demand jobs; targeted job coaching to Indigenous people, including Indigenous people with disabilities.
