In many parts of the world, early civilizations formed when people began coming together in urban settlements. The word “civilization” relates to the Latin word “civitas” or “city.” This is why the most basic definition of the word “civilization” is “a society made up of cities.” Civilizations were formed by a group of people, with similar or same ideologies, beliefs, and interests, coming together in order to form a community. Civilization, in history, prevailed all over the world, but their occurrence and existence period varied. Some overlapped while some had a huge time difference. Every civilization had its identity. Some had a different colour, some had different features, while some differed by the advancement in their attire and evolution in the weapons they used. The members of one civilization stayed together and migrated together as a heard. A civilization consisted of a Head or a Ruler who formulated the laws, looked after the welfare of his citizens. The Ruler had a few people who made sure law and order was carried out in his community. There were numerous professions that prevailed at the time. There were craftsmen to make clothes for the people, there were people who made pots for multiple purposes- storage, water, food, collect alcohol, burial pots, etc. There were people who also made jewelry for the rest of the member and community, there were people who grew crops, there were some who helped in making houses, basic furniture, dug wells for water, and many other such activities. Civilizations had a group of people from the same locality who lived like residents in a modern-day society, each having their own homes and families, but acknowledging the rest of the people around them. Every civilization also had a different habitat they called home, some built houses, some lived in caves. But in all, a civilization was one that was able to sustain itself from the powers and attacks of its neighbouring civilizations/ kingdoms and by natural phonomenons.
