Vineyard Approximately a 20-minute drive west from San Sebastian sit 17 ha of 50 years old estate vines, dry farmed perched above the Atlantic’s . Steep hillsides of sand and chalk define the often dreary landscape, and the from this fishing town within Getaria tend to express high toned sea side qualities. Upon arriving to the town circle, if you turn left at the famed Elkano you’ll head towards Ameztoi and Txomin Etxaniz, for example. But if you keep going along that coastal road a bit farther and take the next left, you’ll turn onto the windy green roads past Agerre (Julian’s brother) until you reach the perfect house of Gañeta.

Production (picked early for rose on September 10th) 100% destemmed, briefly soaked on skins before . The unsulfured juice is fermented (native) in inox at low temperatures to retain as much natural CO2 as possible. The is bottled just after filtration, and no additional CO2 was added in the process.

Vintage 2019 was a bit of a complicated for Getaria with unusually high winter temperatures causing early bud break which was soon debilitated by a very cold spring resulting in a decrease of delayed flowering. A beautiful summer corrected the vintage for some producers that didn’t lose too much, but overall there was a 20% decrease in production for the 2019 vintage in Getariako Txakolina. What remained was a beautiful and more concentrated , free of sickness and high in quality.

Wine Man, this coastal wine screams salty summertime sunshine, despite its rainy origin. Margarita like lime kick with all kinds of beach fizz, briny ocean water and notes of aloe. A classic Getariako style to quench your adult thirst this summer.
