School Dinner Menu Next week will be week 1 on the dinner menu. A copy of the menu, with photographs of the food, is posted on the Academy website: www.monkscoppenhall.cheshire.sch.uk Free School Meals If you feel that you might be entitled to free school meals, please contact the Cheshire East Free School Meal Service on 0300 123 5012. They will take some details from you and advise immediately whether you are eligible or not. If you are eligible, they will contact the Academy. It is important that you register for free school meals as the system brings extra funding into school which is spent on the child. Please call at the Academy office if you are unsure. Road Safety A reminder to parents/carers please keep to the path on your way in and out of school and use the zebra crossing when going to the nursery and also when crossing Remer Street. Your children’s safety is of the highest priority to us. Can parents/carers also remind children that scooters should be left with bikes and not used on the school premises? Bikes and scooters are left at your own risk. Before /After School Collection KS1 parents/carers are required to stay with their children until the doors open at 8.50am children should not be left unsupervised. KS 2 children need to be on the playground for 8:45.

    SELF-EVALUATION FORM May 2017 – Summer 2018.V5 Context Our School The Fermain Academy is a 40 place 13-16 AP ‘free school’ with 52 students currently on roll. The school serves students from all over Cheshire East and beyond. All students have come to us through varying struggles in a mainstream school and all have individual needs. Many of these students are at risk of permanent exclusion and some come after being at a PRU. Almost all students have a persistent record of absence from their respective schools and thus have not been diagnosed with a range of additional needs such as Autism, Attachment, Dyslexia or ADHD. FSM ever 6 is currently 86% of our current. 10% of our students are in the care of a local authority. 96% of the cohort are below their expected learning level both on predicted KS2 data and expected progress for their age. 76% of our current cohort of year 11 students will have been with us less than a year when they sit their GCSE exams. The Fermain Academy school prides itself on supporting learners with a wide range of difficulties. All stake holders identified our values as a continuous commitment to the care, support and progress of our students. We work very closely with parents, students and other agencies to meet the needs of individuals. Students make progress in all areas particularly, but not exclusively, with their emotional, social and behavioural skills. The ethos is centred on students developing an intrinsic desire to make progress. Students enjoy attending the academy so their attendance is excellent despite many of them having an adverse history.

We say good bye to some colleagues this summer. Mrs Charlett joined us from Wade Deacon School in 2007 and is taking up post at St Francis Xavier College Liverpool. Mrs Bevis has been with us since 1998. She leaves us to take up post at Ruskin Community School. Mrs Williams, who has been with us as a Curriculum Leader and Teacher of Drama since 1997 leaves us at the end of the term. Mrs Carroll leaves us to take up a permanent post at Reddish Vale High School in Stockport. Miss Nelson has decided to say her own goodbyes, in this newsletter. She leaves us to take up post in a school closer to her home in Wrexham. Mrs Nixon, Senior Science Technician, is retiring this Summer after 15 years service to the school. Mrs Leese, Achievement Leader begins her maternity leave and expects to return to us at February Half Term of 2016. I am sure that you will join me in wishing them all the very best. Joining us for the new academic year are the following colleagues: Mr Morgan, who joins us as Achievement Leader for Inclusion and Behaviour for Upper School. Mr Saxon, who joins us as teacher of Maths, having trained with us in 2014-2015, and who won the Maths Department pi off whilst here! Mrs Beeson also joins the Mathematics Team.

    Cheshire Pension Fund | Hymans Robertson LLP Rates and Adjustments Certificate In accordance with regulation 62(4) of the Regulations we have made an assessment of the contributions that should be paid into the Fund by participating employers for the period 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2023 in order to maintain the solvency of the Fund. The method and assumptions used to calculate the contributions set out in the Rates and Adjustments certificate are detailed in the Funding Strategy Statement dated 13 March 2020. and in Appendix 2 of our report on the actuarial valuation dated 30 March 2020. These assumptions underpin our estimate of the number of members who will become entitled to a payment of pensions under the provisions of the LGPS and the amount of liabilities arising in respect of such members. This is an updated version of the Rates and Adjustments certificate with updated rates for Burtonwood Community Primary School (employer code 225), Cheshire Community Action (12), David Lewis Centre (32) and Plus Dane (326). The table below summarises the whole fund Primary and Secondary Contribution rates for the period 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2023 (ignoring prepayments). The Primary rate is the payroll weighted average of the underlying individual employer primary rates and the Secondary rate is the total of the underlying individual employer secondary rates, calculated in accordance with the Regulations and CIPFA guidance.
