It aims to guarantee the effective and lasting preservation and protection of Jewish cemeteries and mass graves throughout the European continent. Identified by the Hebrew phrase Lo Tishkach (‘do not forget’), the Foundation is establishing a comprehensive publicly-accessible database of all Jewish burial grounds in Europe, currently featuring details on over 9,000 Jewish cemeteries and mass graves. Lo Tishkach is also producing a compendium of the different national and international laws and practices affecting these sites, to be used as a starting point to advocate for the better protection and preservation of Europe’s Jewish heritage. A key aim of the project is to engage young Europeans, bringing Europe’s history alive, encouraging reflection on the values that are important for responsible citizenship and mutual respect, giving a valuable insight into Jewish culture and mobilising young people to care for our common heritage.   • Tiszabecs - Tokaj
    Tiszabecs - Tokaj: A TISZÁRÓL RÖVIDEN A Tisza a Duna legjelentősebb mellékfolyója, a jelenlegi hossza 962,2 km, a szabályozás előtt 1420 km volt. A Tisza a Szovjetunióban lévő Maramarosi-havasokban 1886 m magasságban eredő Fekete- és Fehér-Tisza összefolyásából keletkezik. A vízgyűjtő területe 157 000 km 2. Visó torkolatától 63 km hosszan a szovjet- román határon folyik. Magyarországot a 744,5 fkm-nél éri el. Tiszabecstől kezdődik a 25,2 km hosszú szovjet-magyar határ. A Tisza mindkét partja Szatmárcsekétől, a 719,3 fkm-től magyar terület. A 643 fkm-től, Lónyától 17,2 km-en újra a szovjet-magyar határon, majd 5 km-en a csehszlovák határon folyik a 620,8 fkm-ig. Magyarországi hossza 584 km. A 159,6 fkm-nél átlépi a jugoszláv határt. A Tisza Slankamennél, az 1214,5 fkm-nél ömlik a Dunába. A Tisza hegyvidéki: szakasza 200 km hosszú, a szovjetunióbeli Visó torkolatáig tart, nagy esésű, sekély vizű folyó. A Felső-Tisza: Szamos torkolatáig (686 fkm) tart, 266,4 km hosszú, a magyarországi rész csak 58,6 km. Magyarországon ez a rész a leggyorsabb, 3,5-5 km/h sebességgel folyik, 60-100 m széles és 1-2 5 m mély, a meder kavicsos, lejjebb homokos. A víz tiszta, I. osztályú. de 2-3 C - kal hidegebb, mint a következő szakasz. A vízjárás: gyors, órák alatt több métert áradhat, a víz zavarossá, hideggé válik. Nehézségi foka ZWB-ről ZWC-re, Tiszabecsnél WW I. vádvízzé válhat, hirtelen árhullámra lehet számítani. Tiszabecstől Szatmárcsekéig kezdőknek nem ajánlott a vízitúrázás. A közeli hegyek és a kanyargós partok miatt ez a szakasz nagyon szép és élvezetes túrázást nyújt.
