BACKGROUND The proposed project will consist of widening NW 82nd Avenue to a three (3) lane road with parking, from NW 7th Street to NW 10th Street, and construction of a new four (4) lane road under State Road (SR) 836/Dolphin Expressway, from NW 1oth Street to NW 12th Street. The SR 826/Palmetto Expressway and SR 836/Dolphin Expressway project left an opening under SR 836 to accommodate the future connection of NW 82nd Avenue, which is necessary to address capacity needs in the area. Attached is correspondence from Miami-Dade Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) providing additional information. FISCAL IMPACT/FUNDING SOURCE The estimated project cost is $2,716,754.00 and will be jointly funded by DTPW and the Miami-Dade Expressway Authority (MDX). TRACK RECORD/MONITOR This item is sponsored by the DTPW and Lana Moorey, P.E., DTPW Project Manager, is responsible for monitoring this project. Agenda Item 5.A.1 MPO RESOLUTION# RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE 2040 LONG RANGE TRANSPORTATION PLAN (LRTP) TO ADVANCE FROM PRIORITY II TO PRIORITY I OF THE PLAN A ROADWAY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT ALONG NW 82"d A VENUE FROM NW 7th STREET TO NW 12th STREET WHEREAS, the Interlocal Agreement creating and establishing the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Miami Urbanized Area requires that the MPO provide a structure to evaluate the adequacy of the transportation planning process and programming process; and WHEREAS, the Transportation Planning Council (TPC) has been established and charged with the responsibility and duty of fulfilling the aforementioned functions; and WHEREAS, the TPC has reviewed the amendment to the 2040 Long Range Transportation Plan, made a part hereof, and finds it consistent with the goals and objectives of the 2040 Long Range Transportation Plan for the Miami Urbanized Area, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GOVERNING BOARD OF THE METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION FOR THE MIAMI URBANIZED AREA, that the attached amendment to the 2040 Long Range Transportation Plan to advance from Priority II to Priority I of the Plan a roadway improvement project along NW 82 A venue from NW 7 Street to NW 12 Street is hereby approved.
