He attended St. Patrick’s parochial schools and Lewiston High School, Colby College and Boston University Law School. He belonged to the Young Republicans, and became a municipal court judge under Governor John H. Reed, 1960-1965. He was Chair of the school board in 1962, nominated by Georges Rancourt, and Chair of the failed Charter Commission in 1970.
