The paper focuses on various activities of cultural institutions operating in the territory of the region. The methodological basis of the research is L. V. Nikiforova’s cultural expertise based on systematisation of the categories of «places» of cultural space. The paper is a preparatory stage of cultural expertise, which aims to thoroughly analyse the network of cultural institutions in general and to identify potential art- spaces for further detailed study. It provides a detailed analysis of the network of cultural institutions in Khabarovsk and an overview of the categories of cultural institutions in the administrative centers of all districts in the Khabarovsk territory. The source base of the study is the data obtained from the analysis of websites of cultural institutions, social networks, as well as the respondents’ personal surveys. Cultural institutions representing different forms of cultural activity have been roughly divided into ten groups. The result of the research is a perspective to identify institutions the activities of which can be evaluated in terms of belonging to the art-space format. Specifics of Cultural Space of the Khabarovsk Territory • The Potential for Integration of the Transport Complex of the East of Russia Into the International Market of Transport Services
BRANCH-WISE ECONOMY DOI: 10.15838/esc.2019.6.66.8 UDC 332.1+339.924, LBC 65.049(2) © Bardal’ A.B. The Potential for Integration of the Transport Complex of the East of Russia into the International Market of Transport Services Anna B. Bardal’ Economic Research Institute, Far Eastern Branch of RAS Khabarovsk, Russian Federation, 153,Tikhookeanskaya Street, 680042 E-mail: [email protected] ORCID: 0000-0002-9944-4714; ResearcherID: V-7615-2017 Abstract. The eastern regions of Russia are the convenient zone in which Russia cooperates with the actively developing Asian region. The key states of North-East Asia such as China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea are the largest participants in world trade at the present stage. The servicing of large- scale commodity flows with the European Union and the U.S. is provided by the market of transport services, by means of which the most effective schemes of delivery are built. Under these conditions, the transport system of the East of Russia has objective prerequisites for integration into the international transport system. The goal of our present study is to assess the potential of integration of the transport system of the Far East in the market of transport services in North-East Asia. At the same time, we assess integration opportunities with the help of dividing the territory of the East of Russia into districts based on the results of cluster analysis. Considering the achievement of the research goal, this approach is a new one. The need for division is due to the fact that the Far East is quite a large region, extremely heterogeneous in its internal composition, economic-geographical and socio-economic characteristics.

How to use the Atlas The Atlas has two map sections The Main Section shows the location of Russia’s intact forest landscapes. The Thematic Section shows their tree species composition in two different ways. The legend is placed at the beginning of each set of maps. If you are looking for an area near a town or village Go to the Index on page 153 and find the alphabetical list of settlements by English name. The Cyrillic name is also given along with the map page number and coordinates (latitude and longitude) where it can be found. Capitals of regions and districts (raiony) are listed along with many other settlements, but only in the vicinity of intact forest landscapes. The reader should not expect to see a city like Moscow listed. Villages that are insufficiently known or very small are not listed and appear on the map only as nameless dots. If you are looking for an administrative region Go to the Index on page 185 and find the list of administrative regions. The numbers refer to the map on the inside back cover. Having found the region on this map, the reader will know which index map to use to search further. If you are looking for the big picture Go to the overview map on page 35. This map shows all of Russia’s Intact Forest Landscapes, along with the borders and Roman numerals of the five index maps. If you are looking for a certain part of Russia Find the appropriate index map. These show the borders of the detailed maps for different parts of the country.

Bird Conservation International (1998) 8:141-171. © BirdLife International 1998 The threatened and near-threatened birds of northern Ussuriland, south-east Russia, and the role of the Bikin River basin in their conservation KONSTANTIN E. MIKHAILOV and YURY B. SHIBNEV Summary Fieldwork on the distribution, habitat preferences and status of birds was conducted in the Bikin River basin, northern Ussuriland, south-east Russia, during May-July 1992,1993, 1995,1996 and 1997. The results of this survey combined with data collected during 1960- 1990, show the area to be of high conservation priority and one of the most important for the conservation of Blakiston's Fish Owl Ketupa blakistoni, Chinese Merganser Mergus squamatus, Mandarin Duck Aix galericulata and Hooded Crane Grus monacha. This paper reports on all of the 13 threatened and near-threatened breeding species of northern Ussuriland, with special emphasis on their occurrence and status in the Bikin area. Three more species, included in the Red Data Book of Russia, are also briefly discussed. Maps show the distribution of the breeding sites of the species discussed. The establishment of a nature reserve in the lower Bikin area is suggested as the only way to conserve the virgin Manchurian-type habitats (wetlands and forests), and all 10 species of special conservation concern.
