ATSF SD45-2 5696, approaching Summit, CA December 12, 1975 on the south main track of Santa Fe's LOS ANGELES DIVISION FIRST DISTRICT, leads the 5708 and two other SD45-2s on the eastbound 891 Train Super C . ATSF 5696 is one of the high- speed units from the second order, and on the LOS ANGELES DIVISION, trains 198 and 891 were authorized to operate at passenger train speed, but not exceed 79 MPH.
