Originally conceived as “International Winter Sports Week,” the Chamonix games were held in association with the 1924 Summer Olympics, held in Paris, & boasted 258 athletes (247 men & 11 women) from 16 nations, competing in a total of 18 events. The 2018 Winter Olympics begin Friday, Feb. 9 in Pyeong Chang Olympic Stadium, South Korea & the schedule of events is packed from the opening ceremony until the closing ceremony on Sunday, Feb. 25. In between, the Olympic Games schedule features non-stop match-ups & medal ceremonies.
