Cherry Ave., Inglewood, CA 90303 • 310/680-5400 • www.iusd.net Excelling as Leaders Bennett-Kew Elementary is proud of its student council, led by fifth-grade teacher Ms. Fernandez. Participating students are provided with the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to become actively engaged leaders in their school and the community. This is thanks to the Irella dedication of both their adviser and our helpful Perez Bennett-Kew staff. Principal This year the student council has become very active in school activities. Under the direction of their advisor, our students are able to demonstrate creativity, leadership, organization, and team work, all traits apparent in great leaders. Council members also serve as role models on spirit days, and learn about managing money as part of the Valentine’s Day fundraiser. They are already planning activities for Read Across America Day, too. This year has been a productive one for our young leaders. Having the resources to help them figure out what it takes to be a good leader has been essential to their growth. Bennett-Kew’s Student Council members have emerged as school leaders and become role models.
