JANUARY 2021 JUNE 2021 FARMERS TO FAMILIES FOOD BOX PROGRAM 2/26/2021 FEBRUARY 2021 Delaware Nation 2021 Annual Report Page 3 A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT FY 2021 MILESTONES During the past year, the Nation has continued to move Deborah Dotson forward despite the effects of the pandemic. A few of our President successes this year are: Dear Tribal Citizen, I know that the past year has been difficult for many of you as we continue to endure the effects of a global pandemic. Many of our citizens and their family members have faced illness, job 1. Joined Cherokee Nation, et al v. Stitt with 31 Oklahoma loss, loss of family members, shortage of supplies in stores, and tribes to address the gaming compact issue with Governor adjusting to new ways of doing everyday life. My heart has gone Kevin Stitt. (pictured above) out to all who have faced these challenges and the Nation has worked diligently to provide ways to assist as many as possible with the CARES funding we received. I am pleased to report that 88.84% of the CARES funding received by the Nation went to our tribal citizens during this pandemic and the uncertainty that it brought. I have just completed the application to the Department of Treasury for the American Recovery Act Funding. As we wait for the acceptance and distribution of funds, I can assure you that the needs of our tribal citizens will be at the forefront of our minds as we plan. I would like to take this opportunity to say that I appreciate each and every citizen of our Nation. You are the reason we exist and your resilience in good and bad times is amazing. I am equally appreciative and proud of all our staff who have 2. Received Emmy for “I Stand Guardians of the Water” stayed and worked diligently throughout this pandemic. I am directed by Kyle Kauwika Harris, former Public Relations thankful for the Executive Committee board members and Director for Delaware Nation. (pictured above) their willingness to move the tribe forward to provide the most that we can for our citizens. Delaware Nation co-hosted the 2021 first virtual Bridge Special General Council Meeting October 10, 2020 a Gap Meeting which had the largest registration to date. (pictured above) Page 4 Delaware Nation 2021 Annual Report 4. Lenape Police Officer, Rodney Scott, was sworn in with BIA and Delaware Nation Court and was cross-deputized with BIA in May 2021. (pictured above) 7. Throughout FY 2021, our Delaware Nation Staff collaborated with Farmers to Family to distribute food boxes to our tribal citizens and the community to alleviate the financial burden during the pandemic. (pictured above) Each success strengthens our sovereignty as a Nation and builds momentum to continue moving the Nation forward. I anticipate great things for the future of our Nation. 5. The opening of Delaware Nation’s Early Childhood As we have seen, it takes all of us working together. As a Learning Center. (pictured above) cohesive group, our resolve, perseverance, and strength will allow us to face any challenges that may arise. I look forward to visiting with all who are able to attend General Council in person on June 19, 2021 at the Anadarko High School Multipurpose Room.
