Baskin Robbins Partners with National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and the Warrington Volunteer Fire Company No.1 to Pay Tribute to America’s Heroes
Warrington, PA (April 8, 2008) – Here’s the scoop! Baskin-Robbins is kicking off summer early with a special 31 Cent Scoop Night celebration on April 30, 2007. During the event, ice cream lovers will have the opportunity to enjoy their favorite Baskin-Robbins ice cream flavor for only 31 cents while paying tribute to local heroes.
America’s favorite ice cream store is partnering with the National Fallen Firefighters foundation (NFFF), an organization that honors America’s fallen fire heroes and their families. The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation is a tax-exempt, nonprofit institution, established by Congress in 1992, that leads a nationwide effort to remember America’s fallen firefighters and assist their families and coworkers. In 2004, it established the Everyone Goes Home Program to help prevent firefighter line-of-duty deaths.
In celebration of 31 Cent Scoop Night, Baskin-Robbins will honor fire fighting heroes by making a $100,000 donation to the worthy organization. Since 1992, NFFF has developed and expanded programs to honor fallen fire heroes and assist their families and coworkers. The money donated by Baskin-Robbins will be used to help support the organization’s programs including “Everyone Goes Home,” a program that helps to prevent fire fighting line- of-duty deaths and injuries."31 Cent Scoop Night gives us a wonderful opportunity to show customers our appreciation and at the same time support a great organization, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation,” said Ken Kimmel, Baskin-Robbins’ brand officer. "We are thrilled to host this event and mark the unofficial start to summer!"
Ice cream lovers are encouraged to “cool” down and visit the Warrington Baskin-Robbins at 334 Easton Road in Warrington, PA from 5 pm to 10 pm on April 30, 2008. During the event, consumers can choose any flavor and pay only 31 cents (plus applicable tax)* for 2.5 oz. scoops of ice cream. In addition to the corporate donation to NFFF, the Warrington Township Volunteer Fire Company will be handing out free smoke detectors and collecting donations.
