Two million doses of Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccines arrive

A total of two million doses of Sinopharm COVID-19 vac- cines, purchased from the People’s Republic of China, arrived at Yangon Internation- al Airport yesterday evening. The vaccines were re- ceived by the team led by the Yangon Region Public Health Department Head at the air- port and stored at the Central Storage Facility for Vaccine in Yangon. The newly-arrived COV- ID-19 vaccines will be distrib- uted to respective regions and states via roads and with the help of Tatmadaw aircraft un- der the necessary tempera- ture. The Ministry of Health has been administering the COVID-19 vaccines in states/ regions as per the national pri- ority programme.—MNA

Imports of COVID-19 protective equipment, medical supplies continue daily

THE Ministry of Commerce is making efforts to ensure people have access to the essential med- ical supplies that are critical to the COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities, includ- ing liquid oxygen and oxygen cylinders, arranging continuous importation on public holidays. On 28 August (Yesterday), anti-COVID-19 equipment, med- ical products, including oxygen plants and concentrators, were imported by nine companies and transported by 22 vehicles, in- cluding four bowsers.
