What is Telehealth cont’d. • Telehealth is a provincial program that uses the E Health Services desk and bridge • Sometimes a delay in the audio over Telehealth but only milli seconds • Voice activation changes sites on the screen • The E Health Service desk can monitor all usage. Within our Region • All sessions must be booked by emailing Telehealth at schr.sk.ca or phoning 842-8605 • There is competition for rooms and time so the earlier the better • Provincial connections except in urgent cases require 48 hours notice to the bridge. • The EHS desk at 1-888-316-7446 is there to help Community • Telehealth is for our communities. • Patients can see doctors or other health care providers • Patients can attend support groups and pre-op clinics • Patients can learn about their conditions. • Patients can visit loved ones. • Patients can take part in research. • New uses are possible just by asking. Employees • Employees can advocate for patients by spreading the word and asking the specialists to use Telehealth. • Employees can seek education from around the world. • Employees can keep up with our region’s activities. • Employees can participate on regional committees from their home community • But most important….Employees can offer services via Telehealth. Managers/Employers • Managers can manage budgets by saving on travel and accommodation costs for employees to attend meetings and education sessions. • Managers can support education activities by organizing workloads so their staff can attend education sessions • Managers can participate in regional activities via Telehealth • Managers can find specific education sessions to address unique facility needs. • During lockdown managers can arrange for family members to visit residents via Telehealth. • Managers can do interviews via Telehealth and hold family/case conferences.
