Volume 2, Issue 1, February 2009 THE HONOURABLE ALEXANDER LESLIE, ACTING CLAN CHIEF 2008 has been a fascinating, challenging and exciting year for me, and there have been some exciting developments within the Clan Leslie Society. Prominent amongst these is the news that an agreement has been reached to start a Clan Leslie Collection at the University of Guelph Library, thanks in very large part to the energy and effort of William Leslie. Also during the year many Leslies attended many gatherings and met kinsmen they did not know, and renewed old friendships. 2009 promises to be as exciting - with the Homecoming Festival to be held in Edinburgh in July. Advertising on the television has already started, and plans are afoot. When you read this I will be finalising our own plans as the Clan Leslie Charitable Trust and will let you know what we will be doing early next year. Alex Leslie, Acting Chief SAN ANTONIO HIGHLAND GAMES, APRIL 4-5. Frank and Lynne Leslie will host a CLSI tent at the 11th annual San Antonio Highland Games, April 4-5. This event is held at the Helotes Festival Grounds, 12210 Leslie Road, Helotes, Texas. The Festival Grounds are northwest of San Antonio.
