Property A home of great character, this three-bedroom, three reception room detached family home is situated centrally in the ever popular village location of Ickham. The property has been tastefully upgraded and modernised by its current owners with good specification kitchen and bathrooms, bi-folding doors to the garden, open fireplace and under floor heating. The house is approached via a tiled, fenced front courtyard with driveway to the side. The internal accommodation in brief comprises a hallway, two bay fronted reception rooms, kitchen/breakfast room which opens to another reception space with bi-folding doors to the garden. There’s a rear vestibule area with access to the WC, utility room and storage space. Upstairs there are three bedrooms, a family bathroom and separate shower room. Externally to the rear is a mainly lawned garden and patio. Ickham is a popular village on the outskirts of Canterbury with local amenities including a well-regarded public house and church. Neighbouring has a highly regarded primary school. Canterbury city centre is approximately 5 miles away where you will find a wide variety of shops, bars, restaurants and cafes, as well as numerous cultural and recreational facilities. Canterbury also has a number of highly regarded schools in both the public and private sectors and high-speed rail services to St. Pancras.

Our Time Here We were first drawn to the wonderful location back in 2006. The timing suited us and the village has turned out to be all we hoped for. We think the place is full of character, with period features, whilst also feeling spacious and light. We have recently extended to the rear and there is now a fantastic living area in the kitchen, and out into the garden. The local community is quiet and very friendly; the local primary school has a very good reputation as do the pubs! We like the fact that it’s very close to Canterbury but you are right out in the country with all its advantages. Carpenter’s Lodge has been part of our lives for more than 10 years and we feel that we have brought it back to life.
