REQUIREMENTS FOR ENGLISH-TAUGHT PROGRAMS 1) Applicant must currently be enrolled as a post-graduate student or third/fourth- year undergraduate student; 2) Non-native English speakers must have one of the following:  TOEFL score of 92iBT  IELTS score 6.5  Certificates that prove student who has studied for at least two years at, or received a degree from an English speaking high school, college, or university

PROCEDURES AND VISA 1) SISU reviews student’s application materials. 2) Once accepted, applicant will receive an admission package including an acceptance letter, visa application form (JW202 form) and registration information. 3) Applicant who wishes to study for more than one semester are required to do a physical examination in advance. It should be done in a national or public hospital in their home country within 4 months prior to the registration date at SISU. If the applicant is in China, he/she should do it at the local Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau. ★ Applicant having a Chinese Residence Permit does not need to do the physical examination.

4) Applicant can go to the nearest Chinese Embassy or Consulate to apply for a student visa (X1 or X2) with the above-mentioned documents. ★ Please keep all the application documents (original and photocopy) after the visa application.

REGISTRATION Applicant should bring the acceptance letter, JW202 form, physical examination report (with all the test reports/data sheets in their original format), and their passport on the Registration Day. In case of delay, he/she needs to notify the Office of International Student Affairs (OISA) in advance. OISA retains the right to terminate the registration of the student. ★ Student’s physical examination result has to be verified and certified by Shanghai Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau where he/she might be asked to have some additional tests.

INSURANCE

If applicants come to study for less than one semester (one semester included) and have already got an international insurance which covers their stay in China, they are not obliged to buy the Chinese insurance. However, these students need to provide the international insurance contract (not the insurance card) issued by the insurance company on the Registration day.

If Applicants come to study for more than one semester, they need to purchase the Chinese Insurance for Overseas Students in China on the Registration day. The insurance fee costs 400 RMB for 6 months, and 800 RMB for one year. More details about the insurance are available at: http://www.lxbx.net/index-e.html
