China, Hubei Province, Wuhan City, China Abtract: From almost nothing in 1970 to the World largest manufacturer and automobile market in 2013, China has essentially focused its rapid economic progress on industrial development. This paper discusses the meaning of middle income to the developing world. It then determines the factors contributing to the growth of China auto industry. It also argues on how the fast growing of a middle income country’s auto industry could impact other developing economies. It therefore concludes that although the economic model established by China to develop its auto industry traces its basis in the diamond model’s determinants, the application of these determinants has followed a different approach backed up by a pentagram model which places the government as the primary actor in the fast transformation of China auto industry. China, Brazil, India, Mexico, South Africa and more others have relatively ameliorate their industrial capabilities with positive spillovers to the rest of the world. -

Vendredi 13 Avril 2018 DS Automobiles annonce un modèle surprise C’est sur Twitter qu'Yves Bonnefont, directeur général de DS Automobiles, a annoncé une surprise concernant la gamme de la marque. Une vidéo Instagram de Thierry Metroz, directeur du style de la marque, dévoile quant à elle partiellement un modèle électrifié haute performance, à l’aspect plutôt conceptuel. Rendez-vous est donné le 14 avril à 9h00 pour davantage de détails. L’électrification de la gamme est une des priorités de la marque, et plus globalement du Groupe PSA. L’indépendance de DS Automobiles par rapport à Citroën, officialisée en 2015, s’est matérialisée par la commercialisation il y a quelques mois du véhicule de loisir DS 7 Crossback, premier modèle d’une toute nouvelle gamme composée d’un nouveau produit lancé par an, et ce jusqu’en 2021. Prochain sur la liste, le DS 3 Crossback, puis une grande routière, dont le nom n’a pas encore été dévoilé. Les remplaçantes des DS 4 et DS 4 Crossback, dont l’arrêt de la production vient d’être décidé, viendront compléter la gamme à l’horizon 2020. Chacun de ces modèles bénéficiera d’une version électrifiée, dont le DS 7 Crossback, en version hybride rechargeable E-Tense, qui sera disponible mi-2019, et le DS 3 Crossback, vraisemblablement en version 100 % électrique. FACULTY OF ENGINEERING AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT Automotive third party logistics in China Helge Ketels September 2011 Master’s Thesis in Logistics and Innovation Management Supervisor: Roland Hellberg Examiner: Lars Bengtsson Abstract This Master’s thesis concentrates on the investigation of the automotive third party logistics (3PL) industry in China. Therefore the overall aim of this thesis is the investigation of the Chinese 3PL environment with the focus on automotive industry. In order to clarify this aim, following four research objectives are set: 1) Identify barriers and conditions of the 3PL market, taking automotive market as an example market for 3PL services. 2) Identify market specific logistics services and compare different logistics services providers in this environment. 3) Assess the Chinese industrial structures and their impact on foreign enterprises and create an actual picture of the automotive industry. 4) Detect industrial structures’ influences on logistics services competition. Such a research is important as existing research focused on these objectives is extremely rare or not present. The research objectives are solved by a multi-method approach. In wide areas this thesis is a descriptive study. Thus barriers and conditions of the 3PL market, taking automotive market as an example market for 3PL services, are identified in an extensive literature review and combined with findings from interviews. These interviews are performed in a case company which is active in the Chinese automotive 3PL market. Many important characteristics and circumstances which can mainly be seen as barriers for logistics business are identified in the areas of Infrastructure and equipment, Supply and demand of logistics services, Importance of relationships, Legal issues and Staff requirements. -

The sales of new energy vehicles in China are the highest in the world, and China’s new energy vehicle enterprises have played an important role in this. The business model, as a method for enterprises to achieve their strategic goals, utilizes resource advantages to deliver value to consumers, and is affected by enterprises’ ownership, competitive strategy, and resources. Based on the resource-based view (RBV) theory, the article uses a mixed quantitative and qualitative methodology, selects 30 vehicle enterprises from the mainstream market, and takes product value, suppliers, dealers and external relations, research capabilities, shareholders, and profitability as potential explanatory elements to analyze business model differentiation between different ownership categories. The article explores the reasons for the differences in business models between different ownership classes through case studies and data comparisons. It examines the characteristics and types of business model based on resources and competitive strategy. This study suggests that the ownership of enterprises plays a decisive role in strategic choices and resource acquisition and has a differential impact on the business model in resources and revenue dimensions. -
